The only needles I use, the only ones you need
Since the first set of ChiaoGoo DPN's I purchased to replace a set of Addi Lace DPNs in size 0 that were bent before I even removed them from the packaging, I've not used anything else. Over time I have picked up a 60-inch circular in nearly each size of this line (missing only a few of the larger needles, which I have not needed even once), which, along with magic loop, is the only thing I use anymore. I've packed up my interchangeable sets and stored them away. I rarely use DPNs or flat needles anymore, and the high quality surgical grade stainless steel (yes, stainless steel, not aluminum or another soft metal), along with the plastic-coated steel mesh cable, make the ChiaoGoo Red Lace needles the highest quality, most knitter-friendly circular needles I've ever used. The cables, which are kink-free and memory-free, are the best part. I've found that at the very small sizes (up to about size 2), the cables do in fact get slightly kinked, probably because of the way I store them, but compared to the cheap cables I used before finding ChiaoGoo, they're still a dream to use. Being lace needles, they do have a sharp tip. If you'd prefer, ChiaoGoo also offers a non-lace line of stainless steel and bamboo needles, though I have used only one of their non-lace stainless needles and none of the bamboo, so I cannot compare them to the lace line. Each circular includes the size permanently etched into one of the needle tips (and only one, unfortunately). With smaller needles, the size is incredibly difficult to see for those of us with presbyopia (i.e., us old folks who need bifocals), but that's what needle gauges are for, right? Despite the size being laser etched, the needles remain smooth. The joins where the cable meets the tip is also very smooth, and for those who use interchangeables, you might find the permanent joins truly fantastic. I have one needle, a size 5, that has a bit of a join issue, though out of all my needles, it is only one, and only on one side, and I don't consider it severe enough to need replacement. Unless you simply cannot use magic loop, strongly prefer bamboo or another material over stainless steel, or hate using circulars for flat knitting, I'd urge you to do the same. With a FULL range of sizes, from 0 (2.00mm) to 19 (15.00mm), these ChiaoGoo needles are all you need. Lengths up to and including 40-inch are offered in sizes as small as 000 (1.50mm), and you can also find very rare sizes like size 10.75 (7.00mm) and 10.875 (7.50mm). I urge you to buy a ChiaoGoo 60-inch needle in your most used size and give it a try for your next project. I believe you will quickly come to love these needles as I have and rush to add others to your cart or wish list.

Best circular knitting needles on the market
The reason why these are the very best is that that the coil never twists and is very flexible making knitting much easier and smoothe . The join between the needle and coil is perfect allowing the stitches to move along without friction. The needle points are finely tapered which makes transitions off and on the needles effortless . Amazon’s pricing and selection is better than most specialized yarn stores as these needles aren’t available at generalized craft stores .

Smooth stitching
As a new knitter, I’ve been using bamboo knitting needles, so I wasn’t sure about this metal set. I needed a 40” circular set though, so decided to give it a go. Wow, I LOVE these. They’re very nice quality including the red cable, and the stitches slide so easy on and off them. That may be a disadvantage for some but it’s made my stitching so much faster with less use of my thumb slipping the loops off. I just bought another set in a different size and highly recommend them. No more bamboo for me!

Another great circular knitting needle
I really love the Chiagoo circular needles, and am starting to have a pretty comprehensive set! This is the 40-inch length, which I find to be the handiest length- it's good for Magic Loop, and works even if you are knitting 2 socks, mittens, or sleeves at once (though the 60-inch is a bit better for that). The needles are sharp enough to pick up even tight stitches, but not so sharp that they tend to split the yarn. The cables are firmly attached, and are flexible enough to go in fairly tight bends, while being stiff enough that they don't kink. And they are strong! stainless steel cable covered with a smooth and low-friction plastic. The only disadvantage I've found is mostly with cotton yarns- the needles are a bit slippery for that, particularly when there's only a few stitches on the needle.
