Cooking Mama 3: Shop and Chop

I'm a big fan of the Cooking Mama franchise. You all the fun that comes with cooking, but you don't have to clean up! With 80 new recipes, you get hours of fun cooking with Mama. You can make any of recipes for your virtual friends, and with the new Let's Shop mode you can play as Chika and buy ingredients while avoiding obstacles and other shoppers. :) I recommend this installment if you're a fan like me or even a novice as the game is simple and easy to play.

Okay in a review of Cooking Mamma 2 I compared it to The Godfather part 2 because it was one of the best sequels I have played. But we all know how bad the third film in a series is. Spider Man 3, Shrek the Third even the Godfather Part Three was didn't live up to expectations. So you'd probably think Cooking Mama's 3rd DS outing is really bad. WRONG!!!! It trumps the first two games by doing two things. One Staying true to the first two's formulas and Two adding a shopping feature. The gameplay is the same play mini games to cook food but there is a twist. In the let's shop mode you shop for items trying to avoid customers who will lead to mini games themselves. For example if you bump into the store stocker you will have to play a mini game where you have to pick up his items. This alone is worth the 27 dollar price tag just to see a ticked off store stocker yelling at you to pick up his vegetables. There is also new recipies like candy apples, and marshmallows(perfect for a halloween play session) and creme brulee. I love this series not only for it's constant replay value but because it realy tends to trancend genre fans. You can be a Halo fan and still play cooking mama because you can take the same quick reflexes used for that game and apply it to a recipie in this game. So pick it up sit down and play, Mama needs some more help and only you can do it.

I bought this for a 9 yr old girl. She LOVES it. It's the game she plays most often and the longest. I've only played it a few times and I even find it fun and challenging. She's had the game almost a year and it still holds her interest. I would buy this again.

This is the most realistic "Cooking Mama" game. The food looks more real than ever before. I starting making the fried shrimp, and I noticed how attractive the raw shrimp looked. It was glossy with stripes like real shrimp, and you even get to de-vein it! The fish dishes are also very realistic, as you can see every scale on them. It seemed almost like I would get my hands dirty when I cleaned the rainbow trout, and I loved it! The only feature I didn't care for as much was the shopping. It was a little difficult trying to elude the people that run into you, and some of them follow you around! It's just a pointless little mini game. If you are a beginner to "Cooking Mama", then this latest game would be good place to start, since it's the most attractive and the easiest to play,.

Like I've said with other mama's, the visual graphics really blow. I get that's part of the mama signature and charm, but I really hate it. Love the games. Hate the visuals.

I enjoy this game and am glad I got it. There are some aspects of it that I do find frustrating and I think it could have used a story mode , but I don't think it takes away from the games over all fun.

Aunque hubiera preferido introducir a mi sobrina a otro tipo de juego, fue lo que ella quiso, con formas de juego que se asemjan mucho a como preparar un platillo, es un buen juego para alguien que le gusta jugar a ser la mama.

Probably one of the better Cooking Mama games. The game came in perfect condition.
