Love this pan!
I, too, thought it seemed thin and flimsy when I first got the pan, but after using it a few times I absolutely love it. I do use it for baking cakes and storing them in the pan using the lid. Cakes bake up perfectly in the pan. The cake plus frosting stay moist and don't dry out when keeping the lid on during storage. It's easy to get the lid on and off once you figure out how to do it. The lid has one end that is used to open it and the other end has to hook onto one end of the pan. It doesn't just pry off any which way. I don't bake cakes often, but they keep for days perfectly in this pan with the lid! I suppose this pan would dent if I threw it around and dropped metal tools on it, but that hasn't happened and it has not been dented, so far. I guess it has scratches on it, but metal pans do scratch over time. But the scratches are minor and cosmetic only and don't impair the function of the pan. I haven't washed it in the dishwasher; I wash it by hand, which is how I wash all my baking pans and trays. It probably also depends on what kind of dishwasher detergent is used, as some detergents are more corrosive to metal than others. I avoid products with citric acid as I have vintage silverware and citric acid is hard on silverware. I have not used it to bake a casserole in and I imagine that some foods might become stuck on, but that is the nature of the metal without some kind of non-stick coating. I don't want non-stick coating, so I don't bake something that is going to get all blackened and baked on. If that happened, I would soak it and use something like BarKeepers Friend. Over time, aluminum can lose its shine due to use but that is normal wear and tear. We really love this pan!

Love this brand and this pan The lid fits nicely and the pan is easy to maintain and put your cake in. No rusting, no warping in the over, just quality Nordic. Definitely on par with their products and name

Awesome pan!
This has been my most favorite baking pan ever! I've been baking for 25 years and have used a lot of different equipment. I was concerned at first that this pan being bare aluminum would cause major sticking, but it's not even an issue if you use baking spray or grease and flour. It's lightweight, which as you get older, is definitely a plus! But it's also very sturdy to carry places and you can put stuff on top if it. It's very deep, so you don't have to worry about anything rising over the edge. It bakes very evenly. I do find it helpful to place it on a big baking tray because the bottom is thin. The snap on lid makes it so convenient for taking to events, pot lucks, etc. I only use this to bake sweet dishes, desserts and cakes. I can't recommend this pan highly enough! If you bake and take things a lot, this is a game changer!

perfect cake pan with lid
I had a similar cake pan with lid for so many years that the lid warped and had to wrap it in a rubber band. I have been looking in stores for a while and not able to find it. So I was very glad to find this one. It's a lot like my old one but the lid goes on a little bit differently. You attach it to one end and then pop it on.

Nice pan. Not nice lid
It is a good quality aluminum cake pan. Heavy duty enough to do the job. It is not nonstick - a plus, and one reason I chose it. I was warned through other reviews that the edges of the lid are sharp. They weren't exaggerating. There is not one rolled edge on the lid. The lid doesn't slide on like your Nana's old pan. It kind of pops on. It is tricky prying it off while not slicing your finger tips. Yikes 😬. (Might have to use those cutting gloves I use with the mandolin.) Note also that the lid is for storage only. It should not go into the oven. Final note: This was shipped to me in a plastic bag inside a plastic bag mailer. Luckily it wasn't damaged since I need it for holiday baking this week.

The Only Cake or Casserole Pan I'll Ever Buy from Now On - Lightweight, Non-staining, Great Results
I bought this pan because 1) I'm clumsy and have broken glass bakeware in the past, 2) It has a raised lid, giving a little more room and flexibility, 3) I've had good experiences with other Nordic Ware products. It has not disappointed. I'll make Pros & Cons list to keep things simple. PROS: 1) The pan is super lightweight. Really, really incredibly light. Being a huge ex-football player that doesn't matter much to me, but it's nice anyway. 2) Food has cooked evenly and consistently, and without fuss. Dark aluminum pans can require some temperature adjusting. This doesn't. 3) Food doesn't stick. Well, not anymore than with glass bakeware. It's never been a problem for me. 4) There's no nonstick coating to wear away. 5) The lid of the pan is raised. This is really convenient, as taller casseroles don't get compressed by the lid as sometimes happens with glass bakeware. It's good for decorated cakes as well. But for me, the biggest advantage is that I used these to hold and transport cookies to work, my wife's classes, etc. The raised lid is a surprising but major advantage of this pan. 6) It doesn't stain. I've cooked lasagna and other super-staining meals in this pan, and it's cleaned with no effort at all to the original silver color. 7) The pan is a few centimeters taller than many of its competitors, adding even more height and the resulting flexibility. CONS: 1) It scratches. But who cares? And at least it doesn't have a coating that scratches away, meaning performance stays the same. 2) Using metal serving utensils can make a weird kind of scraping feeling that occasionally gives me the shutters. Like some people get with nails on a chalkboard. My wife thinks I'm crazy - it doesn't bother her. Probably barely worth mentioning but...well, there you go. Overall: If I buy more bakeware in the future, I will buy this pan over and over again.

Recipiente que no se le pega nada
Desde que lo vi, me pareció perfecto. El material es muy resistente y la tapa embona perfectamente, al hornear no se le ha pegado nada. Lo compraría de nuevo.

Not what I was expecting
I like the two piece thing, but the pan and lid are quite thin. Also, after the first use some dark spots appeared on the surface of the pan, and this is given the fact that no food actually came in contact with the pan as it was wrapped in a baking bag (no acidic foods were baked).
