Janlynn Candle Wicking Embroidery Kit, Wildflowers and Butterfly Pillow 14" x 14"

Comes with two or three times as much thread as you need but only one card to put the thread on. Design is clearly printed on the material so it's easy to follow. I'm only a little way through it but it's looking very nice so far!

Finished it within a month. It turned out beautiful. Didn't do the candle wicking and like it just the way it was.

I bought a different Janlynn kit years ago, and was very pleased to see they are still making them, because the quality is excellent. This one arrived promptly and complete, except that the sorting card only had 16 holes, and the kit has 28 colors of thread. Not a problem, I just made another card. The fabric is unbleached cream, a rough cotton, that makes a great backdrop for the satin thread. I like a more polished needle than the one supplied, but that is personal taste. The directions are clear and complete. This is no weekend project -- I've been doing needlework for 45 years, and I expect this will take me 3-6 months to finish, but it will be heirloom quality.

It would be nice if the floss had been separated and labeled, it took me an hour to separate and put in floss sorter. Doesn't come with a usable sorter. Difficult instructions.

I am busy with multiple projects going on at the same time. That means it takes me a long time to finish an embroidery item. So, I have not yet started this HOWEVER, I have another just like it and I have opened the package to check for quality. The instructions are clear with color, stitches and examples of stitches. IF you can find true embroidery kits in the store they are much more expensive there. I believe this will be just as much fun and hard work to finish as my others have been. I love the "pure" not shaded background. If you have had other kits or looked at them you'll understand. The butterfly was the selling point on this one for me. It might be a while before I start this. When I do I'll post an update. But, like I said I work on embroidery over long periods of time and have since I was very young. I'm now happily over a 1/2 century young and I'm sticking to that. I have given away every piece I have made over the years. ( a lot) This one will be mine.

I haven't had the chance to work on it yet, but the quality, and design are beautiful ❣️❣️ I will adda picture when I finish it.

I fell in love with the picture. I started working on it and discovered how very tedious it was. However, this was the first piece I've done that my husband would look at each day and comment on how beautiful it was. I think it's too delicate to be a pillow, so I had it framed. It will be a birthday gift to my wonderful daughter. I didn't use the twilling stitch for the candlewicking. I did the chain stitch which looked much better in my opinion. So many colors that I got a big piece of heavy craft felt, labeled each of thew 30 colors in marker (used both sides) and pinned the corresponding below each number. Easy to handle and move if needed.

Beautiful, I’m still working on it. There is more there than I thought. I just loved the picture and had to make it. Now I work on it inbetween other things I’m working on.
