Solvent Free Gel Medium Oil 150Ml

Gamblin Solvent-Free Gel smooths out the paint, makes it dry faster, and does it all without a trace of smell. It’s easy to work with, mixes in quickly, and keeps my studio air fresh. I have used several oil painting mediums and enjoy the consistency. There is no smell, and it does the job. It's a great price point, too.

I love using the gel medium to thin my paints

If you keep the 25% ratio, thin layers of paint are touch dry after 48 hrs. It also has a semi-glossy finish. Gamblin states it's not suitable for initial layers, but I only paint 2 or 3 layers maximum. I can make the upper layers fatter by adding a drop of oil to the paint mixture., or a little more gel. 4 stars because I find it slightly irritating and it has a little odor too (bleached linseed oil has neither but dries slower), but maybe that is only my problem.

Works great with water mixable oils.

I have been using Liquin for years and love how fast it dries, however the smell worries me. I decided to look for a more eco-friendly substitute. Gamblin Solvent-Free Gel Medium Oil is a painting medium that is made from safflower oil and alkyd resin. It is non-toxic and contains no Gamsol or petroleum distillates, which fit my first criteria of being more eco-friendly. There is hardly any smell to the product. My second criterion was that it had to dry fast. I found that thin layers of solvent-free mediums can dry to the touch in about 36–48 hours and thick layers can be dry to the touch within a week or two. I am very happy to have found this product and I am now using it in my paintings.

Gamblin added to the paint speeds up the drying time for your oil paintings. That's it ! I wish you could buy a much larger tube guys !!!!!!

I am really happy with this, it works as intended and I like the gel as it makes it easy to portion and mix in. This size tube will go a long way.
