Perfect entry level Spyderco
If you're looking to try Spyderco for the first time, this knife is a perfect introduction to the brand. Sturdy, sharp, and well-made knife, and while it doesn't have one of the exotic steels of a more expensive Spyderco, it will get any job done for you with ease. The handle is solid and feels great in the hand. The operation is smooth, and the liner lock is sturdy. It's a little heavy, but sometimes I enjoy that in a pocket knife. Great value from a great brand.

Good knife
Good budget spyderco knife. Action was stiff at first, but it loosened up.

Overall decent purchase
Been using it as my edc to work for the past five months. It does a good enough job, budget steel so I do sharpen it weekly. It comes stiff out of the box, had to loosen it up and oil it a little bit. My biggest complaint is the finger hole access. I’m right handed and use my middle finger to flick open. The G10 material isn’t cut the same on both sides. One side is fully exposed, the other isn’t, making it uncomfortable to open at times. Other than that, solid knife and I plan to carry it until it breaks, because it also doubles as a pry bar at times.

Great knife. Deployment angle is not the same as other Spyderco knives
The angle on the deploy is not optimal. Great knife. Very slicey.

Great knife. But now I have 2 brands to collect dangit!
Looking at the pictures I thought the blade too wide for my tastes, and the handle seemed to dip in a bit much, like most spiderco's. I got it to try, and it's actually way more ergo than it looks in pics! The full grind makes for a very good cutter, having such a long acute bevel. The material is very grippy, and the knife's thin so doesn't print, and light so an easy carry. The clip isn't deep pocket as I prefer, but that's easy to fix. Handle is easy to hold, a really good size. Most impressive though is the smooth as silk action! For a mass produced affordable production knife, it's amazing! You can easily flick it open with a finger, or open with your thumb. Way easier than it looks in pics! Highly recommend, but now I have to look at spiderco's AND benchmades all the time, my wallet's groaning :)

Not perfect for Southpaws
This is a really nice knife. The steel isn't the greatest, but its sharp and not too bad for the price, but in the end, I returned it. I'm left handed; the shape of the scales are different on each side, making it easier to close the knife, but harder to open it because less of the spydy-hole is exposed to the left thumb. I've tried many different configurations and this design is second best for me. First place goes to the back lock knifes. This is just one southpaw's opinion. In the end, I found that I preferred the Cold Steel TuffLite. I could also buy two of those Taiwan made knives for the cost of this China made knife. If you have a little extra coin, the Spyderco Native 5 is a perfect southpaw knife. A few steps above the TuffLite and made in the US with better steel.

Great knife
I have always used Spyderco knives in the past because they are durable and well made. I decided a few years back to try and find a cheaper blade....I did find a few and they were cheaply built and didn't last. Spyderco is such a great blade for it's price and very well made. This particular knife fits well in the pocket and the clip fits snug to a belt or pocket. The size is just enough blade to do every day things like open boxes, whittle branches, or cut into a block of cheese....cleaned the blade of course! If you are looking for a good everyday carry knife, Spyderco does not disappoint and I have not found it's equal.

Overpriced garbage knife
I guess I should have known better, being the owner of several "good" U.S.A. made Spyderco knives. While I have no real problem with the higher end Chinese made knife steels, this knife was poorly done. Unless I got a lemon, the blade came way off center and tweaking the pivot screw to bring it into alignment made opening the knife impossible. Secondly and more importantly, the liner lock barely makes contact with the blade, creating a real danger of lock failure. Save your money, if you really want a Spyderco knife, spend another $75 or so and get one made in the U.S.A. I'm really surprised and a bit disappointed that Spyderco is okay with this kind of junk being marketed with the Spyderco name and logo!
