Yes and No. It works on my macbook pro, and with surprisingly good fidelity, but only records in mono. There may be a solution for this, but in the 2 short days since I have owned it, I have not found one.

Does this work with debian linux and/or raspberry pi?

It does work on a QNAP NAS which is running Linux. I'm not very familiar with either you are describing; however, it works with Linux OS on some QNAP NAS boxes. It works more than just windows OS for sure.

Will usb soundcards like this disable laptop speakers when in use? I've damaged my normal headphone jack on my laptop so the headphones do not cut out the laptops speakers when plugged in now.

Yes when you have the X-Fi connected the speakers are disabled. The X-Fi becomes the input for Mic and the only output for audio of headphones or external speakers.

Are there android drivers available? does it work through a usb-c port with an adapter?

Your mileage may differ, but I put an USB-C adapter on my phone and it works beautifully with my Motorola X4. Only tried the DAC to listen to music, did not try the microphone input. Am running the latest edition of Android because my carrier is Google Fi. Phone cannot play FLAC files, but my MP3 files run at 320 bps and sound excellent. Likewise streaming music also sounds better but only if you have headphones that enable you to discern the difference. Like a chain, an audio system is only as clear as its weakest link.
