I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU GET BLUMAT’S WATERING SYSTEM IF YOU LOVE YOUR PLANTS
I have been the black fingers pope of my plants. My initial problems were either over watering causing root rot or forgetting to water them. So, I bought one of those self-watering tubes to put into the plant ground thinking that would eliminate both problems. NOT! This only gave me two new problems. 1. I had no idea how much water was still in a glass-colored watering container stake. These stakes held less than a quarter cup of water which meant it required them to frequently be filled again. 2. It still did not resolve the issue of remembering when I needed to water my plants. Whereas as the BLUMAT watering stakes resolved all my issues. I no longer have any overing watering problems that cause root rot nor dry soil by forgetting to water them. The resolution came with BLUMAT’s simple watering system. Now I know all my plants get the right amount of water from my thirsty indoor peppermint to my not so thirsty aloe that only needs water every now and then. This means no more root rot. No more forgetting to water my plants. All I need to do is place a small glass beside my plants. All that is needed to do is to take the tube that runs from the stake and put it in the glass of water that you keep beside your plants. Your plants suck up the amount of water it needs from the glass using the tube from the spike. VIOLA, you have retired from your plants’ black finger pope’s position. Then relax and watch your plant flourish. There are four other things I do: 1. PUT A COFFEE TABLE COASTER under each glass to prevent water damage to wherever I place the glass of water. 2. PUT A LARGER GLASS TO ENSURE EACH PLANT gets watered properly where I have one area where I have three plants. 3. ADDED A WEEKLY REMINDER ON MY PHONE TO CHECK THE GLASSES OF WATER. It is easy to see how much water is needed since the BLUMAT’s watering system allows me to see how much water is in every glass at a glance that is aside the plants. 4. I KNOW HOW MUCH LIQUID FERTILIZER I NEED TO PUT INTO EACH GLASS according to MIRACLE GROWS’ plant growth liquid directions. Some prefer using their power. I prefer using the liquid in a pump as it makes it easier for me to determine how much to feed every plant as all it takes is to add the number of pumps, I need to push according to MIRACLE GROWS’. Best of luck using your BLUMAT watering system DOC

Love your houseplants!
What a beautiful product! I just love a product with an elegant and simple design that gets the job done. No gimmicks here, this just works. I had to leave a Peace Lily for a month, and I considered putting it up for adoption. But then I discovered the Blumat watering system, and got it a day before leaving. Guess what? it's healthier and happier than it has ever been when I try and water it, and even grew 2 beautiful flowers while I was away. So now, even though I could hand water, I intend to leave it to the Blumat watering system. Definitely recommend this excellent product!

Works great - follow instructions
I purchased these in advance of a vacation away from our home in sunny Arizona, and I am glad I did. We were away for five nights and my plants did great. This is now my standard way to water this plant, whether or not I am home. I am glad I ordered these early so that I could fiddle with the water levels in the water source and get it just right for each plant. These work, as long as you follow instructions. Some adjustments may be needed after your initial setup. Here are the steps: 1) Soak the spikes, tubes, and lids in water for a day. Soak all of the pieces, not just the spikes. 2) Dig a hole in your soil the size of the spike using a garden tool or spoon. Do NOT use the spike itself as it is made of fired clay and is relatively fragile. 3) Put your soaked spike in the soil. 4) Put the connected tube and the end of the tube in a water container such as a vase. 5) Thoroughly water your plant. 6) To increase water flow from spikes, raise the water vessel higher by putting it on a pedestal, box, or whatever. I didn't feel like water was getting to my plants at first so I raised the water vessel higher and the result was that the water overflowed out of the planter dish. I readjusted the levels on various plants to avoid that and saw that the plant was getting watered without the added elevation. Your mileage may vary. It makes sense to set these up a few days or a week before you need it to be working. Voila! It works.

An absolute plant saver
I bought these with the best of hope since I would be going away on vacation for a week and have many many plants that I love dearly. I set up the system a few days before I left on two plants I knew needed watering to see if the system would pull water into them. It worked perfectly for the plants, they actually used all the water in the container I had the water set in. I was super jazzed so I setup my other plants the day before I departed with their irrigation lines, watered them all before I left and prayed that they would be ok. Plot twist, I got stuck on vacation due to a hurricane and ended up getting back home 4 days after I was supposed to so I was sure I would walk into half dead wilted plants. To my surprise I walked into lush greenery(see pics), I only lost 1 leaf on a fiddle leaf fig which I suspect was going to drop anyways. Some of the water containers I left were dry because the lines pulled in the water needed. The system works perfectly and is easy to setup just follow instructions. For my very large plants and trees I used two plugs and a gallon water bottle as a water container, for my small plants I used flower vases and had multiple plants pulling from the vase. I hope this helps anyone on the fence on whether to buy these watering stakes.

Absolutely Amazing - does its job! 🪴💚
Usually when I go away for long I leave my plants with friends, and I honestly don’t like it because of ferrying the plants and also for the care of they are given when I’m away. I was planning for a three week vacation and I started researching on how I can get my plans to self water. I came across this product and necessary to give it a try, but I knew deep down. It’s gonna disappoint me. How pleasantly wrong! I left my plant for three weeks all attached to this ceramics end water and let me tell y’all when I came back. My plants were thriving 💚They were actually doing much better than they do when I am home. Don’t second-guess , buy it if you intend to be away for some time.. just follow the instructions on how to properly link up your plants with the water and enjoy seeing your plants looking so healthy when you come back

Don't recommend for outdoor use
I live in Arizona where temperatures can climb over 120 degrees during the summer months. Although most of my garden is on an irrigation system, I have a few potted plants that need to be watered manually. I was on vacation for over 1 week (during the summer) and used the Blumat watering stakes to water the potted plants. I searched Amazon for something that could be used outdoors and most of what I found was watering stakes for indoor use. I was happy to find Blumat watering stakes that were advertised for indoor and outdoor use plus it got a lot of positive reviews. I especially liked that I could purchase a set of stakes for a reasonable price. When I went on vacation, the temperatures were in the low 100's, warm weather but not yet scorching hot. I filled various sized buckets with water and used 1 stake per potted plant. Four of the smaller potted plants shared a 5 gallon bucket of water. After returning home, I went to check on the potted plants hoping for the best. 1. All the potted plants were still alive but just barely. They all showed signs of stress from lack of water. 2. The containers I filled with water still had water in them so the lack of watering was not due to empty water reservoirs. Conclusion: Taking into account that the plants were still alive (just barely) after 1 week in 100+ temperatures, the watering stakes were adequate for the job. However, if I had stayed away for longer than 1 week, I may have returned home to a bunch of dead plants. Or if the temperatures were 110+, a week may have been too long and the end result would have been dead plants. The cost-effective factor then comes into play: the watering stakes may work for outdoor use but then I would need to use more than one stake per potted plant in order to keep it hydrated during the extreme Arizona summer. Then the reasonably priced watering stakes turn into an expensive purchase because I have to buy several sets. Based on my experience, it appears that the Blumat watering stakes will be great for indoor use but not so much for outdoor use (unless using multiple stakes per plant) if you live in a hot/dry climate.

This is the best watering system
I have purchased the 5 pack & the larger 3 pack. If you have a lot of plants, this watering system is the best. My house has plants in 5 different rooms so watering & checking the plants for water took up a lot of time. I have tried the watering bulbs & the suspended bags but I recommend this system. When setting up, submerge the bulb part in water for at least 15 minutes & water the plant well. Afterwards submerge the tube line into your water vessel (I bought 4 tall cylinder shape glass florist vases at a thrift store for $7 total). When you put the cap onto the bulb press down firmly with your palm & make sure that bubbles appear. It's important that any air is released so water will siphon into the dirt otherwise the system won't operate correctly. Place the bulb almost up to the bottom of the cap into the dirt near the base of your plant. That's it - you are done. If the end of the tube line goes above the water line or if you clean the water vessel, you will need to set up the system again. I still top water my plants occassionally so the dirt doesn’t harden on top. And you do need to clean the water vessel occasionally depending if its exposed to direct sunlight. Also make sure that the end of the tube line is clean. This system has made caring for ferns indoors a lot easier. The ferns in the pics I have attached were in 4" pots about a year ago. All 3 have 2 bulbs them (1 large & 1 medium/small). I generally need to add water every 7-10 days. I did try adding fertilizer into the water but it ended up making a green mess in the water vessel. I then had to clean everything including the tube line. The only thing I would recommend to the manufacturer is to attach a little more weight to the end of the tube line otherwise this is a perfect watering system. It doesn't over water nor under water.
