Acid Testing Kit

....if you know what you are doing. A really super cool test kit for TA. Easy to use IF, IF, IF you carefully follow directions. This is an "assay" type test that requires you to use your judgement for color of the final test. NOTE: do not be afraid - the more you use this test kit the more better you will judge color changes.

Nice kit, not expensive, does what it says. I use it with a magnetic stirrer, which just makes it easy to do. I also always use pH paper with it to gauge when the solution is neutral. It is easy to see when it is getting close, it is hard to judge when it is at neutral though. By using the small strips of pH paper (I tear them in half to get more) its simple to get an accurate result. I've found you really only need to test the batch once. If the level is right your done for the batch. If you need to make an adjustment you only need to measure after adjusting it to make sure you got it right. I keep this kit, and the SO2 kit set up on my workbench all the time. That make is simple to do the tests as I'm racking the wines.

I got this for testing homemade vinegar, but it’s not appropriate for this use. Instructions not helpful

I'm sure it's through no fault of the manufacturer, but I had planned on using this kit as soon as it got here. Lo & behold, it wasn't packed for modern shipping practices.

It has everything I needed ... the Price is Right ... It was an excellent deal..

I use this kit to test the acidity of the cheese making process and it works fine for that purpose.
