1600970 Garrett Metal Sand Scoop

The quality of this scoop was even better than I thought it would be. Its sturdy and can even be used to dig in most soil conditions. After using it for a few months it looks like its going to last just fine however I do have a few recommendations. If you plan to only use this scoop on a beach or sandy conditions, I would suggest a plastic scoop for two reasons. First, a plastic scoop will be lighter to carry around all day. Secondly, plastic scoops allow quicker detecting because you can run your detector over the scoop once full of sand/ soil to see if you have picked up your treasure. Obviously with a metal scoop, you have to dump out each scoop full and sift through it by hand.

So far so good. I paired this Scoop with my Garret 250 and they are doing a great job. I haven't dipped in salt water, but I suspect keeping it dry is a must to avoid corrosion. The scoop is very solid and has a nice, large mouth that cuts through sand with ease. I may end up getting a scoop with a handle however. It gets pretty tiresome when you bend down constantly for hours at a time. If you are ready to bend down constantly, then this is the scoop for you. You may want to get a scoop with a handle and keep this as a backup, or in case you desire a larger scoop for specific trips.

I didn't review a bunch of items because I was busy. I could not let this item go by un reviewed. Its wonderful. Very well built and the price was the best around... love this when hunting in sand and as a step in classification

Sturdy and excellent quality!

I first thought that this was an overpriced unit -- then I did research. You're paying for the quality and durability of the product. Wet sand has a tendency to destroy cheaper, weaker units. I have no doubts this product will withstand the beach for years of use. I'm very pleased with the product: shell out a little more, and buy quality.

Son got a metal detector and likes to use this tool when enjoying what he loves. No problem using this tool. After use, keep it clean and if you like, treat it with a little lite oil to keep it shiny and easier to use. It is strong and durable and can be used on land and in the water. Makes digging, sifting much easier when metal detecting. Hope you enjoy yours as much as he has enjoyed his.

This is one of the best products I have ever purchased. It is very durable and better than my expectations. I strongly recommend it for anyone who does any digging in the sand on the beach. I have used it lots already and it stands up to rugged use. The solid construction is awesome - the shape is great and it digs well. I even bought a second one in case I cannot find it again. While I was using it on the beach so many people stopped and commented on how great it worked. You will not regret this purchase.
