Video Reviews Here I Come
This is essential for those who plan to use their cellphones on a tripod, and it works like a charm. It's been years since I used my dedicated camera, and since I am dedicatedly single, I needed a way to record YouTube videos that does not involve having someone else manipulating the camera. And so this is one piece in several pieces of equipment that I needed for complete autonomy. It came assembled, and one doesn't have to sweat too much over the moving parts. The contraption is versatile enough to accommodate just about any phone out there, including my large, monstrously oversized Samsung Galaxy Note 4. The picture is rather deceptive - probably unintentionally - since at first blush it appears that a tripod comes along with the device. Once I realized it did not come with a tripod, I ordered a Ravelli APLT2 50" aluminum tripod; it's a beautiful aluminum tripod that is very light and portable. It screwed on perfectly, and I was taking pictures in 10 minutes flat. I also ordered one other accessory; the Hapurs Bluetooth Wireless Remote Control. With that, I can wirelessly activate my Samsung Note 4 whilst it remains on the tripod. Ah, the life of a hermit rocks . . .

Inexpensive and gets the job done!
I bought this for my iPhone 4S to make taking how-to videos easier. I suppose I could of used my Canon 7D or Go Pro but both of those just seemed like overkill. This holder is easy to use and holds the phone tight- no worries of it falling out. It's actually a nice little design. It's also small and lightweight so you can take it anywhere. It's plenty adjustable so no need to use a ball or tilt-shift head on your tripod to take your shot.I guess the only negative I could say is that it's not the highest quality construction, but if you don't abuse your stuff, it should last for quite a while. And it is less then $15 so not like you should expect billet 7000 series aluminum!

Works for Most Situtations, but not this one
If you're using the mount just for your smart phone, it works great. I wanted it to use with a Sony QX100 lense camera attached to my iPhone, and unfortunately, the design simply doesn't work for that specific use.The mount does not give enough clearance to securely hold a Sony QX100 mounted on iPhone 5 no matter how the mount is rotated. The neck is too short (only about 1") to give adequate clearance, so the QX100 has to be positioned all the way at one end of the iPhone, and the mount attached at the other end. Even then, the QX100 hits the swivel knob and / or the mounting base depending on how you oreient the phone. In either case, this forces the QX100's clamp to continually depress the volume up/down buttons on the iPhone, and the camera + phone are pretty unstable. If the neck between the base and the swivel knob were about 2", then there would be ample clearance to use a lens camera attached to a smartphone. It would be nice to see this product redesigned with the longer neck, because it would resolve this issue without compromising any of the mount's existing functionality.

Perfect quality
Awesome! I use this with my Samsung Galaxy S5 & it works quite well; I was concerned at first because the volume & display buttons are on the sides of my phone that it might not balance, but it is absolutely perfect. When you tighten it down it stays right where you put it. It's very versatile & adjusts to both my phone with a medium-duty case on it as well as my boyfriend's (Samsung Edge) without a case; all sizes fit snugly & there's no worry about it slipping out. I bumped the tripod we had it on & the phone stayed in place. Secure & snug without feeling like it's going to crush my phone. It is also easy to adjust if you want to shoot vertical or horizontal. Simple assembly.

Get This If You Want To Take Sharp, Focused Pictures
Android phones today are capable of taking hi-res pictures of 16 megapixels or more on their rear cameras. However, much of that high resolution is lost or wasted because its almost impossible to take clear, sharp, FOCUSED pictures with phones that no longer make it possible for you to snap the photo by pressing a REAL button.Snapping with a button serves two purposes: not only does it 'snap' the picture, it also allows the hand doing the snapping to assist the OTHER hand in steadying the camera/phone.Without that two-handed method of steadying of the phone, pictures are more likely than not to come out blurry. Even using voice command makes more blurry pictures than one would expect, since its impossible to say 'Shoot' without breathing and moving your entire torso (diaphragm), which also causes arm movement, and lost focus.Enter the tripod adapter. (Note: You'll STILL need an actual tripod to use this attachment!)If you have an extended battery that gives your phone a 'big butt', take it off (temporarily) to use this stand, the big battery probably will not allow the phone to fit into this adapter. (Hopefully you still have your original battery, which you will use for the duration of the shoot.)Carefully snap the phone into the adapter, rear facing camera facing your subject, screen facing you. (Sorry if that's overly obvious!) Part of the mount that holds the phone into the adapter will obscure your screen, but you'll get used to that. If you have a good tripod recommended for use with this adapter, you'll be presented with a range of options for positioning the phone, both from the adapter itself, and from the tripod.I was able to get some truly great, sharply focused pictures with this set up. Definitely worth the purchase price. (Don't forget - you'll still need a tripod that will accommodate this adapter.)

Sturdy and Easy to Use
I got this because I wanted to be able to do videos for my YouTube Channel, The Nearly Elderly Report. But I didn't want to invest in a camera and was hoping to use my iPhone. This has been a great buy and is so useful and easy to use. I just screwed it into my tripod and away I went. I can adjust the angle of the phone and can use it either landscape or portrait. It's very easy to adjust and stays secure. It's very sturdy and holds my iPhone 6 tightly. No slippage at all.Great little device for the money.

Like Having Your Hand Hold Your Phone on a Tripod
The only way I could scrobe this to a friend was to say it's pretty much like your hand holding your phone whilst videoing except it is made of quality plastic and mounts on a tripod. Dead easy to usee and set up - screw it to your tripod (yes it needs your own tripod or one of those octopussy things - I have both) adjust the positioning via a ball joint on the side - open the hand/jaws put the phone in sideway or upright - click on for a selfy or scene.Great for my app - filming my golf swing. Get the tripod in the right place with this clamp on it - use the self video setting so you can see what you are videoing of yourself - click on - do your stuff - click off - open jaws, take phone out and look at the results. This very easy way to mount the phone and then take it out again is the killer app for this type of product - the last thing I need is a difficult, finicketty way to get the phone out so I can view the video.I would imagine that wind would effect its stability and make it judder a little - afterall it is made of sturdy plastic not a steel casting (but a steel one would have cost you £50 I'd guess) but I've had no problem yet - but who want to practice and video in 25mph winds anyway!Summary - very good to use, simple to mount on the tripod and mount the phone. Easy to take the phone out and remount - this is the tripod phone mount you need if you are going to be putting the phone on and off the tripod - like I do for golf swing videos.

Fit for purpose but lacks quality
A great little add on to any existing tripod. It is small and compact. The quality is acceptable. It could feel a bit more robust in some places and I think this perhaps wont have an extremely long life. It was easy to attach to my tripod and holds the phone easily (S5). The adjustment for angle is a little fiddly and it doesn't feel extremely secure, but if it failed it wouldn't mean the phone would fall and be damaged, it would however be extremely annoying. Although I think the product is fit for purpose I think the quality of it lets it down and for the price I paid I would have liked to see better quality materials and design. Unless you want something pro I would probably suggest to just go for a cheaper alternative, the quality will probably be the same.
