A lifesaver for my toddler!! Finally, she enjoys water again!
Thankful!!!!!!. Seriously. My little one has dysphasia and has aspirated thin liquids from birth. A huge struggle since starting her on liquids outside of the breast a year ago has been finding something that does not make everything taste as though it has a twist of lemon in it. AND finding something that is still appealing all around since the texture is quite different. After disastrously trying fluids from a plethora of expensive cup types I started thickening. She clearly knew the taste was different and intake dropped drastically. We have tried 2 other popular brands and various cereals to thicken all of which were okay at best but in cow and almond milk and water, which is all she drinks, they were not tasty. She could tolerate the milks and water only with lemon but that is not ideal for a refluxer, with many foods, or really for a baby at all. Her fluid intake was a struggle and dehydration was always a risk. I even breastfed extra to make up for her lack of intake from a cup (she tolerated breast fine!) . NOW! THICKEN UP!!! PHEW!!!! What a difference!! I myself taste-tested it in many fluids including milks, soups, juices, gatorade and best of all, WATER!!! YAY!!! It truly tastes like water still! The difference is so slight I would equate it with drinking different brands of bottled water. The amount used is ridiculously small. We have had the same tiny can for over a month. I put a scoop in her dry sippy cup, add the milk or water and shake immediately and vigorously. It blends beautifully and at night I will even throw leftover cups in the fridge and they are still a good texture in the morning. They may possibly thicken a tiny amount but safer too thick than too thin. So if they seem a little thick I just add a hair more liquid and BOOM! Perfect again. THis product in a game changer. A life changer actually. Due to the tiny quantity needed to thicken a full cup I can easily keep a few scoops of this lightweight powder in the diaper bag and there is no need for the extra expensive gross tasting individual packets from other brands nor a need to travel with a large can. Conclusion?? Thicken Up Clear is a winner. My little one again loves drinking her water and her milks. I would highly recommend this for anyone with swallowing issues. For a very young baby, check with your pediatrician, GI, or speech pathologist to make sure the ingredients are safe!! Some doctors see an issue with thickeners while others do not. It appears this type of thickener is overwhelmingly safe but ask to be sure before using! They can help you weight risk of using thickeners with the risk of chronic aspiration.

Thickens liquid very well only with small amount, and does not materially change taste of food
I like this product because it's cheaper and works better compared to Thick-it (the other product I tried). At first glance it might look like Thick-it is a lot cheaper because of the much bigger size of the bottle despite similar price but beware that it takes 4 times as much to thicken the same amount of liquid. Also with that much extra stuff in the drink you can imagine what the liquid looks/feels/taste like. If you do the math, this product is actually cheaper, and it works way better from my experience. Thickening the same amount of liquid takes less, and it's fast, and liquid is clear (not cloudy like in the case of Thick-it). The taste also does not change materially (they claim tasteless, but I can tell some difference in the taste of water...though this is when you drink two things side by side..one can't probably tell difference if just tasting one alone. My dad have used this product for over 7 years now, and is really glad we find this alternative to the Thick-it product which we started out with.

Best I've Found so Far
When swallowing problems enter your life, there are few great accommodations around. The thickening powder served up at the hospital is awful. It's gritty and changes the texture of the liquid so much, my husband would rather die o thirst than drink it. Thicken Up is vastly superior to Thick It. That said, it's not perfect. No matter how much I wisk a little liquid with the product to try to get it completely dissolved, that never quite happens. Every drink ends up with a gummy residue at the bottom of the glass, which wastes whatever you're trying to palatably thicken. At lease it's not gritty and my husband will drink it. I'm just so glad to have something that he'll use at all.

Just what I needed
I need to consume a lot of protein due to kidney disease. Started using Nepro meal replacements, 16 grams protein, about the consistency of a runny milkshake, but in order to feel like I'd really eaten something, I wanted a drink so thick I had to use a spoon,. Discovered blending in 4 megaheaping tablespoons of egg white protein powder (~ 60 grams protein) helped, but at that rate I was going through a contaigner of egg white in 3 meals. Then a friend recommended Thicken Up, and it's exactly what was needed. I cut down to 3 almost-normal-sized tablespoons of protein powder, about 3 measures (measure included with the product) of Thicken Up, and get something the consistency of pudding (I call it "protein pudding"). As far as I can tell, it doesn't impart any flavor, so I'm now experimenting with vanilla & coffee extracts for variety. Nice to find a product that works as advertised.

Love it! Minimal texture and no taste!
I had surgery over 3 months ago and had to retrain my throat how to swallow while protecting my airway. Thin liquids are the hardest for me to get down without coughing. I tried another thickener but it didn't dissolve in water so it was gritty and it also had a weird taste to it when added to water. I tried this based on someone's recommendation. I love it! It dissolves so it doesn't feel gritty when you drink it. I also don't notice a taste to it when I just add it to water. I think I use a bit less than the directions say for nectar thick but it still works. So happy to have this so I can safely quench my thirst with water during this hot summer!

Good, but not for water
Bought this specifficaly for my father, who suffered a stroke and could no longer drink plain water. It was reccomened by our physical theripist to purchase Thicken Up--I think she was confused with Thickn'Easy--because when i brought this product back, she told me that it's not for use in water...it's more so for soups, smoothies, and food-based products. It does work, we where able to thicken up a few broth-based soups. With that said, we did try it in water--it created a very chalky flavor and a weird tetxture. We will stil continue to use the product, but i think after this we'll just buy Thickn'Easy or ThickIt products. Minus One (1) star - For arriving without a cap. Minus One (1) star - Not for water *I rely on amazon for reviews of nearly everything before I buy. I like to give back to the community by reviewing items myself. Swallow Therapist recommend for patient aspirating thin liquids.
Not inexpensive but when your husband is aspirating thin liquids into his lungs you want the best. This is the best. We use in all drinks, even soft drinks, even broth based soups and stews, juices. Really doesn’t have a taste but for water, tea etc I add a couple packs of artificial sweetener and maybe a splash of orange juice and lemon juice. I use 3 scoops in a 10-12 ounce glass. Make sure you stir it quickly after each scoop or it jells together. Would not consider changing to a different product. Like I said, not cheap but when your heath depends on it, you don’t want cheap, you want the best. This is the best.

Costo muy elevado ya que en otras ocasiones lo he adquirido por la mitad de este precio, aunque sirvió correctamente y buen producto
