Go with the Flow……
Worked like a charm and is a solid device. Tested it because I live a boring life and have nothing g else to do with my time. Plus. I did not want putrid hot water back flowing into my potable drinking water. Worked like a charm. Pay the premium - its worth it.

Good value
The BFP was easy to install as I was replacing a defect BFP that was already in place. I only had to disconnect the old valve at the unions, leave the old unions attached to the copper pipes and simply replace the valve body using the new seals. I was quite happy that I was able to get this BFP from Amazon because I had a couple of local supply houses refuse to sell me this valve because I wasn't a plumbing contractor - THEIR LOSS IS AMAZON'S GAIN.

Nice but too costly
Nice product for a backflow preventer and well made. But ridiculously expensive at > $60 delivered. If time weren’t an issue I’d buy the same for $34 and wait 10 days.

Direct Replacement for 25-year old part.
One of the few times the cheaper offering was what I needed. This back flow valve is one of four devices (other three are pressure valves) connected to one drain line on my boiler. Line was leaking badly and was the third thing I replaced that stopped the leaking. Encourage checking for an exact replacement for what you need. I soaked the fittings on the valve with WD-40 and it seemed to help when it was time to remove the old one. Also this particular valve came with a warning that its lead content was more than is recommended to connect to a potable water line - maybe the reason it is cheaper?

Internal parts not connected
Very disappointed. Before I opened the package I noticed that it sounded like a baby rattle. At least 2 or 3 internal parts not connected. This is a solid brass part and I'm absolutely sure it did not get broken in shipping. Quality control??? Only one star because 0 stars not an option. Might as well drive across town and spend $5 more at Grainger and know I get a good product. In the mean time my boiler leaks

Easy swapout, just need a good plumbers wrench
My old backflow preventer on my oil furnace was very corroded and began to leak out of the Drain pipe. Bought this as a direct replacement and had no problems removing the old component. Just use two plumbers wrenches and rotate the nuts in opposing directions on each wrench for more leverage to break the old ones apart. Taped up the threads with teflon tape and put some pipe dope for good measure. Replaced and leak free in under 30 minutes. Will order again when the new one starts to leak/get clogged up.
