Use this while breastfeeding and make a nice freezer stash
Using the Hakka with every feed has made my milk supply go up just by making my body think I need more milk. I started using this right when my milk came in with my second baby. I squeeze it down to make the suction tight, then might have to keep readjusting throughout the feed to keep making the suction tight. I was really worried about finding time to pump having a newborn and a toddler but by using the Hakka I didn’t really need to pump, helped me not get engorged, and I saved the milk I collected to create a freezer stash for when I came back to work. I tell EVERYONE who is planning on breastfeeding to use this because it is just the most convenient thing. Also, I tried using a different brand with my first baby just to save money, and I have to say that it FOR SURE makes a difference to use the hakka. It is better overall, the suction is superior, the grip is better and I am able to collect more milk with it. Also, I cannot say how frequently it would just fall off when it got full when I used other brands. With the Hakka it stays gripped pretty well even when it’s full so lower chance to make a milk mess. Worth paying more and getting a product that is better.

Miraculous little pump!
I got this as a second Haakaa to have on hand because I loved my first one so much! The Haakaa works wonders collecting excess milk after my baby has finished nursing. Super easy to use - I just fold back the flange, place my breast in, fold the flange back up, and let the milk flow! After my little one started sleeping through the night, I started waking up with very full breasts. In my experience, it is best to use the Haakaa after you’ve finished nursing and not as a primary “pump” as it doesn’t collect any of my milk in the morning, instead I just hand express. I guess our babies are just really good at getting the milk flowing naturally! I got the cover because I thought it would be convenient to protect against accidental spills but I honestly never use it because I usually just immediately empty the Haakaa into a jar to go straight into the freezer. I did test the cover though (with water, I was too nervous to test it with milk lol) and it is completely leak proof! I also love that the Haakaa itself has measurement markers, super easy to know how much milk you’ve collected before emptying into whatever storage source you may choose. Also super durable and has remained in great condition even throughout daily use, sterilization, handwashing, and even my dishwasher a couple of times. Definitely a must-have for all breastfeeding mommas!!

A breastmilk supply lifesaver
I have never written a product review before now because my feelings about a product have never been strong enough to warrant it. I say that so you understand the level of my feelings. My Haakaa pumps have been a breastmilk lifesaver. The first one I bought was so helpful that I bought another one within two weeks. I like both equally well. The 4 ounce one is easier for me to attach but it doesn't have as stable of a bottom. The picture shows the amount of milk that I got from one breast during a morning pumping session. It's about 8 ounces. That much only happens if I've gotten a bit engorged. Typically a pumping session gives me about 4-5 ounces. I am currently breastfeeding my second child. I didn't have a Haakaa for my first and it wouldn't have been helpful. Unfortunately with baby #1 I ended up exclusively pumping very early on and only used an electric pump. That worked very well for me because with only one child I was able to keep up a very structured pumping schedule. However, with baby #2 I am living anything but a structured life. It's a chaotic madhouse. It is very difficult to find time to sit at one of my electric pumps (I have 2 because I lived through exclusive pumping and having my only pump break down on me which resulted in a frantic trip to the store and me making sure to have a spare) but the Haakaa is so easy to use while breastfeeding my son. My son typically only feeds from one side during a session. I place the Haakaa on the side that he's not going to nurse. Once it's on then I get him latched on the other breast. I learned early on to attach the Haakaa first before my son latches on. Typically after a few minutes the Haakaa is "full" and isn't drawing out any more milk. I will then break my son's latch before removing the Haakaa. I dump the milk in a storage container and reattach the Haakaa. I recommend having some kind of towel under your breast as you detach and attach the Haakaa so you don't drip milk on your clothes or child. I then will continue feeding my son and the Haakaa will start to fill up again. Depending on how full my breast is and how long my son nurses, I will "fill" the Haakaa two or three times. Be careful as the Haakaa fills. It will lose suction and can be dislodged by a well placed baby kick. My Haakaa pumps have helped increase and maintain my milk supply. They are easy to use and clean. They have also helped me build up a healthy amount of extra milk to freeze. I do recommend watching a few YouTube videos about how to properly attach the Haakaa. It's not difficult but you will want to see it done before trying it yourself.

Every nursing Mom needs one.
This is a fantastic tool to passively collect milk on one breast while nursing on the other. Get so much more milk than just using something like the Elvie cups that sit there like a pad. And way more comfortable than using a breast pump. Worth every penny! Id recommend getting the lid but didn’t find it to be too tipsy or anything. Easy to pour your milk out into a bottle.

A great silicone breastmilk collector. Advice - Use a heat pad to help the letdown of milk!
