Is this organic or does it contain pesticides?

While Pure Encapsulations always tries to source certified organic ingredients, they are often unable to find organic ingredients that meet their strict microbial standards. While many studies have found comparable nutrient levels between organic and non-organic crops, pesticide residues have been a concern. For this reason, each plant-derived ingredient is tested for a full panel of pesticides (approximately 70 compounds), in addition to the standard tests for identity, potency, solvent residues, heavy metals, and microbial contamination. The Pure Encapsulations - l-Glutamine Powder is certified Gluten Free, Non GMO, Soy Free, Dairy Free, Vegan, and Vegetarian but not organic.

The l-Glutamine is sourced from China. Each batch of ingredients received by Pure Encapsulations is tested upon reception for identity, potency (if applicable) and contaminants. Contaminants tested include microbial contaminants, heavy metals, residual solvents, aflatoxins, allergens, melamine and others. The frequency of contaminant testing is dependent on risk. Herbal derived materials are considered high risk and therefore each batch is tested for a complete panel of solvent residues (~32 compounds), a complete panel of pesticide residues (~70 compounds), heavy metals (lead, mercury, arsenic and cadmium).

Is this compatible with a low histamine diet?

Pure Encapsulations tells us that L-Glutamine has not shown adverse effect for individuals on a low histamine diet. We suggest you speak with your health care professional about taking this supplement with your individual concerns.
