Big Student Backpack Color: Black

I previously owned this exact backpack, and I needed another because dumb me tried using fabric glue to attach some nice patches I got. Moral of the story: DO NOT TRY AND ATTACH THINGS TO THIS BACKPACK WITH FABRIC GLUE! It WILL NOT stick and you'll end up with a dried glue mess all over your backpack that will NOT come off! But back to the backpack itself: it is an AWESOME backpack! It is a huge backpack, and if you're like me, it will carry EVERYTHING you need for school and then some. I was fitting 2 textbooks, a few binders, food, clothing, etc, and it handled everything perfectly! I was never one to buy a locker at school, so I had to get a big backpack in order to carry everything and this one works like a charm! It's pretty heavy duty and will last you years. I do not go easy on things, and this was no exception, and it STILL lasted me. Like I said, don't mess it up with glue or anything else because it just won't stick! I am so completely satisfied with this purchase and if you like to take everything with you when you go to school, or anywhere for that matter, this is the backpack for you!

Purchased this backpack for my son who is in grade 6. Two years ago I bought him an LL Bean backpack because I thought that LL Bean had a great reputation and everyone commented how great the back pack was. The zipper got stuck and caught onto the fabric within the first 2 months. I mean it really got caught and even my husband couldn't get fix it. He used it for 2 years and then another zipper got caught. At that point I had enough and order this Jansport backpack. He's had it for close to 2 months and I have to say that he hasn't had any problems with it. It's great. Very roomy. Holds his 4 binders with more than enough room to spare. It doesn't look large on the outside but it enormous inside. Its very strong. The shoulder straps are excellent quality. Its a good sturdy backpack and I don't worry about silly zippers getting stuck. LL Bean what happened ? You guys make crappy products. Jansport is the way to go. My son has the backpack in black. I highly recommend.

I bought this backpack for my highschool going son. His old backpack was unable to accomodate all of his books, and everyday was a struggle to put all his books and folder in it. So, after reading reviews on several backpacks I ordered this one. This backpack is very roomy and accomodates all of his books, folder, etc comfortably. Backpack itself is very light though strong so weight comes from mostly the content and not the backpack (unlike the old one). It has adequate number of pockets for keeping a lot of other things like calculator, pencils, etc. But doesn't have a laptop pouch. At least for now, highschoolers don't need laptop to school so that was not a concern. My son is very happy with it. I will recommend this as a very good backpack for highschoolers.

Overall an excellent backpack. Canvas material is semi-waterproof so if you get caught in the rain your laptop is safe. Holds up well to heavy textbooks or weekend trips and straps are comfortable. Am a big fan of the technology pocket for my cellphone, charger, and headphones. When you first get it you'll probably think the padding on the back and shoulder pads it a bit thin but you'll be happy to discover they're both very comfortable even when a lot of weight is applied. I've only had the backpack for a month so I can't speak to its longevity. Best feature is the spacious and deep water bottle pocket. It fit my CamelBak water bottle with no fear of it falling out + all travel coffee mugs I've put in there fit as well. 10/10 would recommend.

This is the only backpack that works for the high school book load. Everything fits in the pack and the padded shoulder straps are everything. There are several zippered pockets to keep things organized. There’s two on the front and a double compartment inside. In one of the pockets there’s place for your phone, wallet, etc. My kid is rough on his gear and Jansport is tough enough to keep up with him for the school year. If the pack were mine, it would likely last 5 years or more. This backpack is respected for a reason. Cool enough, able to withstand the rigors of daily usage, and can hold the weight of 50lb book load while not causing abrasions to the wearer. Big enough to hold books, binders, notebooks, etc and personal items. I buy this backpack every year. Lesser backpacks don’t make it through a semester.

I was worried it would be to big or not have enough padding in the arm straps . Than was NOT the case . It is very nice with not to many compartments ,just the right amount for me . 2 on the top the open fully and 2 that open sideways for smaller items . also a netting for a sports drink bottle . This is just what I wanted . I would have liked to have the bottom made of rugged tan / light brown suede but that style was to small and had more zippers than I would know what to do with . All in all it is great for my work , holds 3 binders in 1 / the main top full zipper compartment (1 large and 2 two " binders ) I have yet to fill it and organize as I just received it but it is just as well made now as when I was in high school in the 90,s A+++ for Jan Sport

My mum got me this book bag about 4 years ago and I love this bag it's great for school and staying the night at someone's house. I almost use it for everything from family trips, school, staying the night at a buddy's house, or just a "purse". In the last 4 years I've been using this bag it has served me well. But sadly in the last 4 months of school ive been have some minor problems with the teeth of the zipper coming undone, and today in finally gave up on me to the point I can't fix it. I am in my sophomore year of high school so I was really bummed to know my bag has finally gave up on me. It has treated me well, this brand and model of this bag is the only brand I swear my life on to recommend to other people. It's a strong bag lasts a long time. So overall I love this bag so freaking much I'm ordering a new one because it's just amazing.

I used Jansport throughout college and has, without a doubt, been the best investment for a Strong/Sturdy backpack that you would ever need. I went to undergraduate school and Medical School, and MANY times I carried a lot of books and the Jansport backpack was the Best at carrying heavy loads. It is not made for the laptop, specifically, yet can carry one without a problem. It does not have a special sleeve for the laptop, yet can carry everything, including a laptop.
