Messor Barbarus Queen ant red head with 1-5 workers (Starter kit)

Fantastic ants. We bought a ant farm for my 8 year old and didn't get much information with it. We purchased these ants and before they even arrived I received a fact sheet on caring for them and when they arrived we were ready. We got a queen ant and 2 worker ants and now we have 4 worker ants that we can see. Would definitely recommend for a beginner the service was fantastic thankyou

So I ordered these harvester ants for me and my son, firstly the delivery was super fast and packaged really well, the ants arrived in great condition, and even come with some food to get you started, and they even email you a care guide which I highly recommend you read as is it's full of information you will need to know about keeping your new ants, and lastly the customer service is outstanding they really do go that extra mile to help there customers, keep up the great work

Arrived fast and well packaged with one worker and brood (with the queen still alive thankfully!). Be sure to follow the instructions on the provided care sheet, think about how stressful it’s going to have been for the queen being thrown around the test tube as the package goes through the post. Above all else put the tube somewhere dark and quiet and leave them undisturbed for a couple of days so they can recover! Two weeks on and they’re up to 3+ workers. Pic below is the best I’m willing to manage at the moment as I’m hesitant to disturb them more than need be but there’s evidence of them foraging and eating seeds (plenty of which are provided) so I’m happy and assuming they are too!

First class seller. The ants were in perfect condition, packaged really well and included instructions on how to care for them. I’ve asked the seller a few questions since and he’s answered them very quickly and given me clear and simple to understand answers.

Very good trader. Very caring for the wellbeing of the ants and provided everything I needed and all the information required. It is a more difficult species though. I am stuck with the same number of workers yet. So before you buy messor barbarus please try easier species like lasius niger first.

I love these more then my son, I originally ordered for my sons ant farm but I love watching them in the test tube they came in and the queen laid eggs straight away! Came with seeds too which last ages
