Works perfect, well-made, bright
I had a hard time finding a headlamp that was just red. Most cycle between red and white, which defeats the purpose of keeping night vision. This one cycles between bright red, dimmer red, and flashing red. It’s easy to operate, comfortable (although it’s a little bulky, but not overly so), and sturdy. The bright red is almost like having a red flashlight, as it’s very bright. I use this for nighttime photography, where I need to see camera buttons without ruining my night vision, and the dimmer setting works well for that.

Great head lamp for hunting
This head lamp has been a favorite tool of mine when hunting. It has two settings one bright and one a little dimmer. This headlamp also has a strobe light setting... not sure when this would come into play, but I love this head lamp. It is very durable, it is comfortable to wear... although I’m usually wearing it over a backwards cap or a scull cap in the cold season. I really like that you can charge a rechargeable battery or use AA batteries. I usually use AA’s and find that I am not changing out batteries very often at all. I can’t say enough positive things about this head lamp.

Very comfortable to wear, bright enough, and adjustable
The swivel for adjusting the angle is nice, strap over the top of the head makes it a comfortable fit (if you're worried about looking like a geek wearing this, well, you're probably already one from reading this in the first place). It's my go-to red light source for astronomy. Two dings on it though - is it rechargeable or not (if using rechargeable batteries)? There is a port for plugging in a charger, but otherwise, it's batteries you install. Second one is the three clicks - bright, low, and flashing. Have to remember to close your eyes when turning off from the low setting so the strobe flashing doesn't degrade your night vision (seems like it strobes at the bright setting). A single on/off high/low/strobe setting would be better.

Extremely bright! Not for star parties.
Even at the low setting (there are three settings, high, low and strobe, can't imagine who wants strobe in a headlamp...) this is orders of magnitude brighter than would be acceptable for a star party. However it would be nice for searching for a lost item in the grass if by yourself, or even reading instructions. The bright setting is really blinding. (Edit): After having it for a year, I *love* it! The brightness is great when setting up or dismantling equipment in the dark (for astronomy or astrophotography).

Very comfortable and Good light
The light is bright enough to adjust my computer and telescope without interfering with my night vision. The headband is very comfortable and adjusts to different positions.

INSANELY bright, defeating its purpose
I want a headlamp I can use to set up a telescope without harming my night vision or bothering nearby astronomers. After a weekend fumbling around with a crappy headlamp that didn't work reliably and made it too easy to accidentally turn on a white light, I ordered this lamp that is just red. But it's so painfully bright that it will blow up your night vision, even on its "low" setting. Also its beam is either "narrow" or "tiny square for cats to chase", but if you remove the lens entirely you get a wide beam that may be suitable for fiddling with cameras or telescopes in the dark, provided the AAA batteries you use are nearly dead.

Strong light. Only red. Charges fast, lasts long.

I use it for astronomy. The red light is great for changing lenses without ruining your night vision. I've had it for a few years and it is still working. Two thumbs up.

Does not include micro USB B cord to charge but your own cord fits in slot under battery pack. Plugged in directly can power weak red beam but not high beam or flutter beam. Pressure included batteries are thus rechargeable after 5 hours of use that other buyers reported. Headlamp tilts out by finger toggle to 3 click stops. By rotating/ pulling lamp outwards to “ zoom in “ (focus beam) to smaller 1 foot square beam at 5 meters. Seems very well built. No instructions in box.
