52Gbps switching capacity, 24 PoE+, great web GUI, amazing value.
I've been a Netgear user for at least 15 years in my homes. Obviously value is a big reason why, but it's also because they pack so many professional features into their consumer switches that it's hard to justify using anything else. TP-Link, Ubiquity and a couple of other brands come close here and there, but the residential network market is truly Netgear's strength and this GS324TP switch is a perfect example why. For the price, not much comes close to what what this switch can do: - 52Gbps internal switching capacity (i.e. switch fabric). Why is this important? Because it represents what the switch can handle at once with a ton of bandwidth-intensive devices connected to it, like IP cameras recording and streaming multiple 4K streams continuously, for instance. I previously had a cheap 8-port Netgear GbE switch connected to another cheap TP-Link 8-port PoE switch running all my devices, and this switch has nearly double the total capacity of both of those and has way more optimization available in the software. If you are experiencing poor latency in your home or small business network, it might be because your switch fabric is too low. - 24 fully-powered PoE+ ports (if you are a big time IP camera user like myself, realize that most current consumer IP cams use around only 3-4W of power each, so 190W is way more than enough to power 24 cameras if that's the reason you're buying this switch) - 2 dedicated SFP ports (I'm using one for a dedicated uplink to my ISP) - LLDP, SNMP, LAG, VLANs, QoS, and tons of other business-level features built in and easy to configure - Front-panel LEDs are bright, laid out well, and easy to reference to see what's going on in your network - Dual chassis fans that only turn on under intense load (I'm guessing other reviewers that complained about this weren't ventilating it properly or had defective units) - Web GUI is a breath of fresh air compared to older Netgear GUI's - functions work consistently across all browsers that I've tested on, and there are no known bugs One thing to note is that more advanced configuration requires a Windows-based SCC tool, but if you're buying this switch, that should not be a problem and as a technologist you should have something that can run Windows in addition to macOS. If you don't, then don't rip Netgear, rip yourself for not having a dual-boot machine or even just a basic virtualization app ;) For the money, I challenge you to find another switch that combines these enterprise-level features, number of PoE+ ports, the usable and intuitive GUI, and Netgear's reputation and experience in the residential market. And last thing... I have to disagree with a previous reviewer who said this switch is "overkill for a home network." Maybe it's because I've been an IT professional for 20 years, but I bought this for my home specifically for all those "overkill" features and I wouldn't have it any other way. Great job Netgear!

Works perfectly well; Like this unit better than my Cisco SG series 52 port switch
I bought this switch to replace a failing Cisco SG300-52 port unit. I like how NetGear has put the professional enterprise/large business features in this model and that it works perfectly right out of the box. It's well built and the GUI is perfectly usable with support and info avail online if needed. I had some issues with traffic not being switched properly with the Cisco brand products but since I switched to these I have had zero issue. Even the Cisco support group was not much help, especially with my VoIP implementation. I am also making use of the fiber based SFP connectors. I bought mine from Amazon and have this PoE switch paired with another netgear 24 port PoE Max switch using the twin fiber ports bound together in LACP. What can I say? I wish I had gone with NetGear from the beginning. Networking in the office runs much better now.

Best PoE out there! So easy, so automatic, see the difference
Replaced old PoE switch with this one. New switch auto-detects if PoE is needed, and applies proper power level, all automatically! Also, every single port on the switch supports PoE so you don't have to check to be sure you are putting your PoE devices in the correct port. I used this for some low power cameras plus some higher power Unifi AC-HD WAPs. Comes with mounting brackets. Also has management features if you are so inclined. I've used hundreds of switches over the years and this is one of the easiest to use by far.

The Best 24 port managed PoE Switch money can buy!
I've had very mixed results with numerous brands of PoE switches over the last 5 years. I use them primarily for home security systems but most have been either very buggy or run fine for a while and then die. I've also had video latency issues and a whole host of performance problems with all of the other brands. WHY DIDN'T I GET THIS NETGEAR in the first place? It's not that much more expensive than the other brands, and it gives me many more tools since it is a robust, managed switch. I've also noticed significant performance improvements. I am SOLD! I will recommend this PoE switch to anyone, both home or business use. Hands down, it's the best I've ever worked with!

Good POE switch, but not 24 port POE only 16 ports are POE
Good POE switch, but not 24 port POE only 16 ports are POE. The quality of Netgear POE switches are great because i find that they run faster then other brands. What i do not like that this switch is only 16 ports POE even through the sales title says 24 port POE. Something has changed over the years that they no longer make this model a 24 port POE without having to spend more money on the model that is fully 24 port POE (Like $440) when the switch was full 24 port POE for $200-$250

A great POE switch at a great price
I have not used the advanced features of this switch so I can't speak to them, but out of the box, it worked great. My POE devices all work great. I wanted POE on all of the ethernet ports of my house without a lot of hassle and this provided exactly that.

Superior in many ways
Totally overkill for home, but it has all of the features I could need as my IoT world expands. Especially appreciate the software/hardware interface and compact size for a switch this size. I read complaints about the fan, but I have had no issues, because the fan rarely runs. My guess is other reviewers are stuffing to much equipment into to small of a space and there is more than just a switch trying to cool itself. Would recommend and would buy again.

It's a nice switch, but a little noisy
It's a great switch and I really like the functionality. It does more than I need and is perfect for my own network. That being said, if you need an absolutely quiet environment this is not the switch for you. If you like a little white noise in your office or room, then this is a pretty good addition. It's all about perspective. That being said, it is not "too" noisy. Just not absolutely silent either.
