A life well lived . . .
Betty Bunch’s story is the type of tale that makes you feel glad. It’s a refreshing biography that one doesn’t get to read very often. She didn’t tell an ugly story of drug or alcohol addiction and how she went to rehab to straighten out. Nope. It was a very straight forward take of a girl who got to be a dancer and was thrilled with her profession.I think there is some reading between the lines required, though.I also enjoyed the book because I have lived in Las Vegas since 1977 and I do mourn the Las Vegas that was. However, I think Betty knew the best years of Las Vegas that were before the 70s.I gave it five stars because I appreciated her take on Las Vegas and it was a fun read. There were some grammatical errors, but then again, I have a B. A. in English (from UNLV), so I will notice things like that.Well done Betty!Do read this book!

Nothing Held Back!
I thought the book to be well-written and truly revealing. The author has a good "voice" and told her stories well. It definitely held my interest. Only problem in the story is that it makes all girls in shows look like "trollops." People already assume that, and it is not true. The showgirl population is just as diverse as that in the mainstream except that men hit on them more often because of their good looks.

Fabulous
What a fun and fantastic memoir of "old" Vegas as experienced by a now legendary show girl starting in the mid 1950s. It really is a must read for anyone wanting authentic reminiscences of behind the scenes vintage Vegas.

amazing life revisited
Having lived the "Vegas Life" in the golden years, I found Betty's book to be full of the history of this wonderul city, and a walk through the fun filled past. She has captured the feeling of the time and her adventures on the way to getting to Vegas was great! Her knowledge and memory of "those days" is remarkable. Thanks for sharing this.

Tthanks for the trip down memory lane
I very much enjoyed this book. I lived in Vegas during the years she is writing about, such great memories. I saw Bottoms Up many times and vividly remember. Sheckey (Greene ending his Fabulous show lying on the floor at the Riviera Hotel singing an Aria from Madam Butterfly. This book is so full of history.

Evoked many fond memories
Betty Bunch tells it like it was. Good to know that I'm not the only dancer that goes up in smoke when referred to as a former showgirl.

LV history
Very interesting history of the "Old Days" that I grew up with in LV. Fun reading-can't wait for the next book.

A well received gift.
I bought this book as a gift for a friend, so can't comment too thoroughly on it. Having said that, I did have a quick flick through and it looks to be packed with interesting stories and anecdotes.
