VERY PLEASED with the results using these bags. HUGE cost savings over manufacturer bags. Just don't seal a Swordfish in them!
I purchased these thinking I would roll the dice on them given the price point of the genuine bags and hopefully they would be passable.Much to my delight these held up better than I expected and in the end I ordered the larger ones as well! I will be adding photos of measurements but they seem to actually be a hair thicker than the F.S. bags and seal and draw suction just fine. I put irregularly shaped articles in them to see how they would vacuum down around them. They did fine but don't take my word for it see the photo I took after a week sealed in the bag.Given that that food vacuum sealers are supposed to save you money it amazes me that the manufacturer of the device seems to want half of there projected savings in bag expenses! These are an awesome alternative to higher priced bags! Given how much I liked these I just ordered the 11" as well so now I have 200 feet of bag material for less than the cost of one pack I buy that isn't even 1/2 that much.I don't do much boil-in-bag cooking so I can't comment on that use case but they do claim you can freeze, microwave or boil in them.**The one point I will caution on is these seem to possibly tear more easily than manufacturer bags. The reason I put it that way is that I rolled the end of a bag to keep the ends clean while filling it a couple of days ago and when I unrolled it I noted a slight split on the open edge. I didn't think I was hard on it but nonetheless it was torn. I think for most applications you will be quite happy but if you are sealing needles, scissors or a swordfish watch out! ;)

One of my Favorite Amazon finds
This is my second order and I love these bags. My garden is giving me such great returns this year, I've gone thru one whole 50 foot roll and are well into my second. I really went around with myself before buying a FoodSaver last month mostly due to the expense of FoodSaver brand rolls. Thanks to this company I will never be without one again. The FoodSaver bags are nice but WOW! are they expensive compared to these so I love these bags. There is no difference. I just put the third roll in my cart and with Prime I'm within days of having a great value. I bought a really obese pack of Hot Dogs and sealed them in many packs of 4. I was in a hurry and threw the frozen dogs in the microwave still vac packed and they were great so I'm curious about a pat of butter and fresh herbs in the bag of veggies and boiled or microwaved. Saturday I cooked a 30lb. brisket and vac packed it in these bags for many meals. Word to the wise ...I made fresh baguettes yesterday, Do Not VAC PACK THE BAGUETTES! Good thing I need bread crumbs... I don't mind that the roll is too big to store in the FoodSaver itself cause when it does it's time to order the next roll. The math for me was simple, 11" x 50' for under $20 for these commercial grade rolls or 3 rolls of 11" x 16' for $26.55 which is today's price. The 2 extra feet and the over $6 savings make this one of my favorite Amazon finds.

Ok, good bags for most items.
The media could not be loaded. I use a lot of vacuum bags. Big and small. FoodSaver bags are expensive and they "get you" on the price of the bag rolls. I found this item and thought I would give it a try. I bought both the large roll and the double smaller rolls from the same vendor. The bags from FoodVac are thinner and do not do well with pointy items, like dried pasta and dehydrated potatoes. They will poke a hole in the bag as it vacuums down....sometimes. When I tried vacuuming the dehydrated potatoes, almost a quarter of the bags lost a seal. So did 'one bag out of four' with macaroni. However, for items without sharp edges, they seem to do just fine. For some reason, on my FoodSaver, these bags vacuum much slower than FoodSaver. When I say a slower, I mean a LOT slower, but they finally vacuum down. Some items have taken well over one minute. The ends of the FoodVac bags will tend to curl, as in the video, and it makes placing them in the sealer a bit tricky. I also have to cut them a bit longer due to the curling. I have not had a FoodVac bag not function. Their thinner quality just makes working with them a bit trickier. For the price, these are a good deal if you are aware of their limitations. If you need a higher quality, thicker bag, use the FoodSaver. If you don't, they will save you a lot of $$$.Hope the video gives you an idea of the quality and difference between the two type bags. If you have seen the video for the double smaller rolls, it is basically the same.At this time, I cannot vouch for how these bags do over time. I will update.See comments for updates.

Much more economical, and every bit as good
Foodsaver thanks you for paying a pile of money for a vacuum sealer... But Foodsaver's not done with you yet.Foodsaver thinks you're lookin' mighty cute in them jeans. Foodsaver's putting on some Barry White and dimming the lights and making inuendos about bags. Foodsaver's not above adding a little wine or rufies to the mix...Ok, know what vacuum sealer bags are? Two sheets of plastic, one textured one not, bonded at the sides and rolled out almost to infinity. Anybody who's ever watched an episode or two of "How It's Made" just knows this probably costs them pennies per linear foot and the automated machines that make them spits out about a mile a minute. So, yeah. Naturally, that product should cost just slightly more then platinum, right?Newsflash - it's expensive because your vacuum sealer is basically a paperweight without it. You're a hostage.Buy this stuff, instead. It's still expensive, for what it is, but it's like 1/3 the price of Foodsaver hostage rates. So you can buy more stuff to vacuum seal, instead of stuff to seal it in. :)
