Bergs Aluminium Shopping Trolley with Seat (Grey)

I broke my hip back in November 2018 and have had two operations since, the latter being a full hip replacement. I found carrying bottles of water from the supermarket back home, near impossible and so decided to invest in a shopping cart. After careful consideration, I chose this one. I can say it's one of the best things I've ever bought! Okay, I haven't used it for very long - nearly three months, but I take it on a journey along bump pavements for 6 minutes each way to the supermarket. It then spends half an hour there, where I buy 2, 5 litre flagons of water, along with other shopping. All of it fits easily into the bag, which is cavernous. It wheels beautifully, both empty and loaded and heavy loads are not an issue. It really has transformed my shopping experience, from painful and unbearable, to enjoyable and stress free. On receiving the cart, you need to fit the wheels to the axle, which is easy. You also have to secure the bag to the frame, using the velcro flaps and tabs - this is reasonably easy to achieve, although, some finger strength is need to stretch the velcro to the correct position. The cart bag has a double clip top cover, that has bi-sided, push release clips, which are easy to use. There are three zipped pockets... One on the front of the bag, one on the top cover and one on the back of the bag behind the fold down seat. The pocket on the front of the bag is insulated for cold food storage. The pocket behind the seat, is useful for wallets / purses. The main bag also has a draw string inner top cover to secure the load further, under the main cover. The whole unit is easily cleaned - I've been using antibacterial surface wipes, which work well on fabric and the hard surfaces, such as the handle, clips and wheels. The wheels are a doddle to clean. The wheels appear to be of a durable, slightly rubberised polypropylene material and are standing up to pavement / road usage. The main drag handle has a durable foam overlay, for comfortable towing. Tip: tow using one side of the handle, to avoid the wheels hitting your heels. The fold down seat is amazing. I'm 92kgs 14½ stone) and it is reassuringly firm and sturdy to sit on. The seat is very easy to fold down and up, at the same time, it stays firmly in whatever position you put it in. Yes, it's a higher price tag than most, but you pay for what you get. Altogether, an excellent bit of kit, that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend AND it's made in the UK!! It's really transformed my shopping experience. I should add, I don't review everything I buy - I don't have the time, but items that stand out, either positively or negatively, usually get reviewed. I do not take bribes from suppliers or manufacturers and all my reviews are totally honest, straightforward and as detailed as is possible. I'm happy to answer any questions.

These are wonderful trolleys because the seat is very solid - you could sit on it comfortably for quite some time. It also has a large shopping bag with an internal clip which would make it hard for pickpockets to access the content. It is easy to maneuver and quite sturdy. The only downside is that it is quite heavy for an elderly person to operate independently. Take it anywhere where you might have difficulty finding a seat and you don't want to stand for hours. Take it on a train, or somewhere like the park for a picnic, to watch sport or to paint landscapes on your own chair with the art supplies in the back etc. It offers much more options than a standard shopping trolley.

I use this for my photography equipment. The storage is huge. It's sturdy. The zipper compartments are useful. My only concern is the wheels are a bit delicate but all in its avuseful bag and does the job.

This is a well-designed and manufactured trolley. Its large wheels make it easily manoeuvrable over rough surfaces (pavements!!}, and its 50 litre capacity means it holds a large weekly shop. Folding means economical storage at home and travel on public transport, (when empty). A sturdy folding seat enables one to sit whilst waiting at the bus stop. The frame is thicker most other trolleys that I have seen. One caveat, when assembled, this trolley is taller, than most that I have seen, when pulling no problem because it’s at a 45 degree angle. Do try to test if the height feels comfortable before buying.

My wife ,absolutely loves this trolley . Its well constructed( light ) ,has the larger wheels ,great size ,,and even BETTER has an amazing seat functions ,when she needs a break ,well worth paying the extra. Highly recommend ,very rare quality item.

I have had this trolley for over a year now so I thought that it was time to write a review. Its really good, easy to manoeuvre over rough ground, & sturdy. However it really could do with a brake. Where I live there are rolling hills & I don't always feel that safe sitting on it when its empty (to have a rest). Its also quite bulky, & heavy, not easy to get around tight spaces in our local café for instance. However the flip side to that is its got a great size bag on it. Personally (I'm 5ft 3inches tall) the seat is a little high for me, & the handle too tall by about an inch. So reluctantly I'm considering buying a smaller, lighter one.

This is a most wonderful bit of kit! I have had shopping trellises before but this one is so well made. Quite large if you are not used to trundling these things around but I really bought it for the added seat as I think it will come in handy at times. The frame is really sturdy and the material seems very hard wearing. Very east to put together. Only had to fit the wheels on and attach the bag itself. I think over time the wheels may need replacing if used on very rough ground a lot. Going to find out if the manufacturer sell them. I thoroughly recommend this shopping trolley. A little more expensive than most but I’m sure it will last many years.

Very simple to assemble just add the wheels and connect the bag with the Velcro strips Have yet to use so can’t really say if it works well but it certainly well constructed.
