Helped me make this beautiful loaf of sourdough. I dont like making round loaves of sour dough as much as the rectangular sandwich loaves. Bread Slices actually fit in my toaster properly and this type of loaf makes a sandwich that is easier to hold and eat with 1 hand. Fyi I used 2 cast iron loaf pans 1 flipped over on top of the other. It was Much cheaper then buying an actual a loaf dutch oven and it works just the same.

The bread lame arrived really rusty so I tossed it. Didn't order for it, so I'm not taking any stars away for it. My husband is German and it's hard to get good rye bread in the states. I make him bauernbrot on occasion, and lots of it. This bread makes a lot of dough and has to rise about 3 times. Eventually going to buy a better pan to bake it in, currently just use a regular bread tin pan. I saw this so that you can judge whether or not if will keep it shape once risen and put on a flat sheet maybe. I sprinkled flour on the bottom before putting the bread on the cloth, this probably kept it from sticking. Wasn't a liberal amount, just enough. Came right out, no sticking or messing with the shape. I use this 2 times, once taking it out and kneading before putting it back into the basket. Waited another hour and into the bread pan for baking it went. Worked really well, may purchase another one. Washing it I rinsed it by hand, and then put it in a washer bag and tossed with laundry.

The banneton basket is very sturdy and I have had no problem with splinters as some reviewers have mentioned. I thought this was a nice set of useful products...the lame is a bit lame, very cheap, but the scraper was a good size and I have used it quite a few times. Over all, I am pleased with this purchase.

I just received the banneton and inspected it. Looks fine and I'm anxious to use it in this next week. It's the size and shape I'm looking for. I did want to call out the lame. I didn't really need one, but it came with it anyway. I thought, hey... another one would be great, but this lame is disposable and you cannot refill the blade when it invariably will go dull (because it will). I use a chopstick and a safety razor, and will likely continue to do so. I might have looked for another option had I known it couldn't be refilled. If you have major concerns with disposable razors, you might not like this set. The bench scraper seems fine. An odd shape, but I think it will come in handy where my rounded one does not perform well.

Really like the shape of the banneton. Quality seems very good. Great value set.

The Proofing Basket itself it ok, but the linen cloth is of very poor quality. I have tried to find replacements but have not been successful yet. I can't recommend this specific product.

My husband is baking sourdough bread. He wanted a basket in this shape. It has a nice liner and is sturdy. Bread will be baking soon.

The basket is great and the dough scraper works well. There was a hole ripped in my package when I got it with the lame missing. Contacted seller twice for replacement. Never heard back.
