Will these fade in the hot sun?

Mine hasn't yet, & I bought one for family members in southern Missouri, where it's really hot, & it's still perfect. Like I said in my original review, these were made to last many years, if not a lifetime. I've never had such a high-quality bird feeder, & this is the only one I'll buy from now on. I have purchased 4 so far (1 for myself & 3 as gifts). I know money is tight these days, but the higher price is a very worthwhile investment!

What is the thickness of the roof

It’s about 1/4 - 1/2 inch thick. It has held up well in northern NH

How many pounds of seed capacity!???

I buy a 25 pound bag at the grocery store. It lasts about a week [possibly 2-3 fills]. It has never occurred to me to weigh the bird feeder when it is full of seed. It is a fantastic item... just buy it... you won't be sorry.
