You will use a optic cable and use the surround sound on the arc function if you have a smart tv causing whatever comes across the tv speakers to be in surround sound **Q: The receiver is rated to handle 120 upto 220Volts. But is the powered subwoofer capable of handling 220Volts as well?** A: I cannot answer that because my Sub-woofer blew the first day.
