Great for smoothies, just get it
I am not a high end chef, I make smoothies 2-3x per week so want a good blender but paying $499 for a blender seems ridiculous and way more than I need. If you are looking at this blender you probably feel the same and are wondering if this $99 blender is worth it. My advice: Get it. 1. Makes a good smoothie, better than the $200 Breville blender I have been using which had reached its useful life. I dont use blender for anything else except smoothies so cant speak to other uses. 2. Like the wide bottom pitcher, easy to clean. I run blender with some water and dish soap. 3. Like the smaller size, fits on counter under kitchen cabinets, easy to store. I am able to store this in a cabinet where the Breville didnt fit. 4. Powerful, manages frozen fruit and blends everything completely. I start on low setting then increase power. Hit the pulse button a few times. Voila. Thicker and better consistency than prior blender. 5. Like the cord storage on bottom. 6. Designed to look like the more expensive blender, seems sturdy, doesnt feel cheap or inexpensive. Sits in nice sweet spot between cheap blenders and the more high end ultra expensive blenders. Cons It is a little wobbly, I put my hand on top while blending. No timer, cant turn it on and walk away and have it turn off automatically like I could with Breville. Only had for a few weeks so cant speak to the longevity, seems sturdy and well built. Expecting it to last for a few years. For $99 I am not worrying that much. Happy with this purchase. Happy that I didnt pay $$$ for a high end appliance that is way more engineered and way more expensive than I want or need.

Awesome blender.
Update after a couple months: dropping to 4 stars because of the difficulty of making a single portion. Still a great blender for making larger portions (2-4 people). Original review: This is an awesome blender. It is very powerful, blends quickly and thoroughly, and is easy to clean. This is not your standard kitchen-aid, it is an industrial blender like something youโd see in a smoothie shop. Size is perfect for 2-3 people and fits under my kitchen cupboard. Amazing with fruit, and very good with greens. Fruit smoothies: this is a beast, in under a minute everything is perfectly smooth. I have not needed to use the included plunger stick yet, just set speed to half-way, and pulse occasionally. Green smoothies: greens are hard for any blender, in the past I would need to juice greens separately to have a green smoothie (Iโm too lazy to do that). This blender breaks kale leaves up to barely visible specs. Perhaps with patience, or more time, they would have become invisible specs, but as I said, Iโm lazy. As it was there is no feeling of grittiness in the smoothie. For me, this passes the test on green smoothies. Capacity and size: Perfect for 2-3 portions. I think you could do smoothies for 4 people, but if that is your plan, maybe get the version with the bigger jar. I really like that this fits under a cupboard in the kitchen (about 16.5 inches with lid on). My wife and I will fill it up about 1/2 to 2/3 full (so less than half full when blended). It does not do well with single portions, which is the only flaw I can find with it. Noise: It is loud, but not as bad as I feared. It is really hard to describe noise- it is loud, but not vacuum-cleaner-loud. For reference, my cat was eating on the floor when I started making a smoothie. Instead of teleporting to another room as a frightened cat is wont to do, she gave me an angry look, grabbed a mouthful of food, and then ran away. While louder than a cheap blender, it isnโt as distractingly loud since it is a fair constant low sound, instead of the modulating high pitched whine that motors make when pushed beyond their limits. Cleaning: Very easy to clean. There are no parts to take apart, the blades are permanently attached to the jar. I like this as it seems like there are fewer places for nasty stuff to hide. I just put some water in it and blend for a few seconds. If I used nut-butter in the smoothie, Iโll add some dish soap to the water and maybe wipe down the sides with a sponge. The blades are not super sharp, so it you do have to reach down there, you probably wonโt cut yourself. The only real question most people will have is โis it as good as a vitamix?โ I canโt really answer that, as it has been years since Iโve used a vitamix. I was considering a vitamix, and have no regrets about getting this for far less money. The consistency of the smoothies seems to me as good as you can get from a smoothie shop. Whether it is as good or not, this meets and exceeds my needs and Iโm really happy with it.

Not just hype - great blender, fair price.
I had been pricing, researching and contemplating high powered blenders for a while (a couple of years- it takes me a long, long time to commit to a big ticket purchase. Probably to a fault.) I wanted a quality blender that would really break down tough, fibrous greens and veggies into -smooth- smoothies, primarily. The price tags on the two major luxury blenders caused me pause. I understand that their warranties are substantial, but honestly that's a large chunk of money to plop down up front. When I saw the price of the Cleanblend and all of the positive reviews, I was skeptical, but overall decided that I was happy enough with the specs and price point to take a chance. I have gotten exactly what I was looking for with my Cleanblend, and I am thrilled that I purchased it. It get the job done well and has become a fixture in my daily routine. Fruit-and-veggie smoothies are just as good if not better than those I used to buy at Juice Generation - who I believe use Vitamix blenders. I have used it every day since purchasing a month ago. The interface of the Cleanblend is simple and, well, clean. Clean-up is simple, as well. Just add a little dish soap, water, and blend. Wipe the base with a damp cloth. I have not yet used it for functions other than blending up a smoothie, milkshake or a "bulletproof" coffee, so I could not speak to that yet, but I do plan to attempt nut butter some time in the near future and will happily edit my review to reflect the results.

Outstanding Blender
If youโre looking for a powerful and reliable blender that can even crush ice with an unheard of โ5 Yearโ warranty, then this could well be the right choice for you. For what I paid, it was no more expensive than others I tried that had great claims, but lacked in performance, and one leaked after the second use ! I highly recommend.

ICE BREAKER - IMMEDIATELY / BEST VALUE
Primary use ...milk shake or smoothies adding spinach and frozen fruit sometimes, breaking the ice is my main concern. The sudden burst of power immediately breaks up th ice, using the pulse button. This is where my 2 previous blenders would bogg down and I would have to take the top off to break up the ice. Exceeding Expectations...Clean Up was just an unepected blessing. Rinse out, fill 1/2 full of warm water, add 2 drops of dish detergent, turn to high for 30 to 60 seconds, let set for couple ofm minutes and rinse and you are done...spotless. The Japan stainless steel blades look like they would last forever The only negative is the jar does wobble during use, so I feel comfortable holding it the whole time...which is not too long. I still gave 5 stars because it blends so well. Powerful ...Efficient...Easy to Clean...5 Year Waranty...BEST VALUE Best Blender at this price range that is less than 17"...fits under cabinet. If searching in this price range, just purchase and stop waisting your time...5 YEAR WARANTY

Absolute Junk
Took it out of the box and set the base on a granite countertop. Turned the motor base on low and it vibrated so bad it almost walked off the counter. In hindsight, that's when I should have put it back in the box. Maybe it needs something in the container I thought? Put in some cream and strawberries, turned it on medium speed. Had to hold the friction-fit lid down because it immediately started walking up off the container. Lid does not lock. Turned up to high to finish blending, kitchen immediately filled with smoke and smelled burnt electrical odors. Thank goodness the circuit breaker on the base worked as advertised. Never could reset the breaker. Going back for refund. My recommendation, do not buy. If this is "commercial grade", it definitely doesn't pass the test. I had to give it 1 star to post review, in reality my rating is 0 stars.

Doesn't clean well and eventually molded
This was pretty functional, but it molded between use which I found disgusting! The directed way to clean it is to put warm soapy water in it, run a cycle, and then rinse. That visually seemed to work ok for most food, but clearly didn't get all the food out of the blades, because if we left the blender for a day or two without use, it would develop a strange smell and we would wash it again before using. Finally I once left it unused for a few weeks, and it actually developed fuzzy mold, which grossed me out so much that I tossed it. Would not re-buy!

Solid blender
We used it right off after reading instructions and made hummus. It's very powerful and I get air gaps around blade making thick moist blends, I have to pause so I can break the air gap and add liquid . Once the ratio is right it blends so sweet. Be careful it seems to be easy to overheat the motor. The directions tell you how to slow start and how long to run motor before resting so you dont overheat and make the motor smoke. Of course you can smell that and you'll know to stop ! Haven't tried ice or a smoothie yet but I think it will blend better mixes very nicely. This has a 5 yr warranty. For 125$ it's what I expect a blender to do. Looking forward to margaritas. It does dry ingrediants great. Weve also blended hot soup in it, the lid has a removable cap you can pour thru and it vents pressure from blending hot liquids.

An awesome blender with lots of power.
This is the 1st time I didn't buy an El cheapo blender and I'm not disappointed at all! This thing is amazing. I do a full jug of smoothie every day. Some fresh fruits, some frozen fruits and ice. Makes perfect consistency smoothies. Another thing I noticed is I don't feel any kiwi seeds. It was weird the 1st time, I'm so use to still feeling them that I thought I forgot to put the kiwis in. So the next day, I mad sure input in my 2 kiwis and ya, nothing. No seeds. As far as other fruits or veggies with known to be tough seeds, I can't comment, but any fruits I've tried, this thing does a perfect smoothie. By the way, the full jug is enough for 2 20oz glasses and a 10oz straw cup for the kid. The jug measures 40oz but holds way more. Also, we live in a standard rental apartment, and it fits on the counter under the upper cupboards, no problem. The only thing I will note, is since day 1,there has been a bit of a smell when it's operated. I just use it on the stove and turn on the range hood fan. But the smell has dissipated quite a hit, still there though. Doesn't affect the smoothies at all.

Better than regular blenders
Better than regular blenders, comes with 5 years warranty and a Tamper for extreme processing power, it helps a lot when frozen fruit get stuck on top. Makes good sorbet. Update : 3 months after purchase, the blender died. Customer service was great to contact by email and they sent me a replacement blender, but since it was shipped from USA, I had to pay 50$ cutoms duty in Canada. I would save those 50$ if it was shipped from Canada like the one I purchased.

Quiet and compact -- good for apartment dwellers
Thanks to major emergency gastrointestinal surgery in 1991, I have had to live on pureed food for the last thirty years. A blender is the most essential kitchen appliance I own, and I've used just about every major brand over the years. Cleanblend is a brand that's new to me, but I was attracted to it by its advertised quietness. My previous blender (a gift which I couldn't return), burned out and died after less than a year of daily use and was the noisiest one I've ever used. It sounded like the offspring of a jackhammer and a chainsaw. We live in a condo, and I cringed every time I pressed Start on it, feeling as if I should send out an apology to my neighbours in advance. It was also too tall to fit under my kitchen cupboards, and the glass jug was too heavy for my arthritic hands. The Cleanblend Ultra, with a plastic jug I can handle much more easily, is a nice compact size that fits neatly under the cupboards, and has a sturdy base that doesn't travel and attempt a suicidal leap off the counter like some I've used in past years. I got it in red, conveniently matching an electric kettle it now sits beside. And, just as the description says, it is QUIET! I pour in the ingredients of my usual main course (lentils + canned carrots + babyfood sweet potatoes), turn it on at a medium speed, and it purrs as it makes up three small mugs that I then stick in the microwave. How well it handles other jobs like ice cubes I don't know -- all I need it for is pureeing everything I eat -- and I don't know how long it will last, but when my budget allows, I plan to buy one or two more to keep as spares. I'm not interested in food and the preparation thereof, so I don't often rave on about kitchen gadgets or appliances, but I really love this blender!
