This alarm is incredibly loud- just a warning. Anytime we go outside and forget to turn it off, we are so surprised at how intense it is. BUT! It works exactly as described, and is doing exactly what it's supposed to do, and we are happy with it. We can hear it from every part of the house clearly, and that's what we want. Easy to install, and works with sliding back doors. Would buy again!

I haven’t had to use it yet the security alarm and I hope I won’t have to. Nobody wants their house broken into but it’s loud and you can turn it on a quiet setting if you want, but for sure if you want a vacation and if Thief open the door when it was locked, it would set up a really loud decibel alarm over 120 dB so it’s great for that. The whole neighborhood would know something bad was happening to your house

Boy are these LOUD!!!! Excellent, cost-effective home security devices. As a single mom, I feel so much safer at home with these installed. Don’t hesitate to buy these!! I know I’ll definitely be getting more!

This is an inexpensive and simple 3 way switch operation Door Chime/Alarm. Installation takes about 2-5 minutes per unit. A deeper look. First off, I feel this unit is best suited for it's Door Chime feature. For example, if a child is to open the door and walk outside, you will know. It gives a loud double chime sound the moment the door opens, but then goes silent. ( Effective alert system, but doesn't remind you to close the door. ) The Alarm feature is extremely loud and continuous from the time the door opens and until the door is closed. It's very similar to the sound of a residential fire alarm. If an intruder gets the door open, it may be enough to startle them and send them running. Or- Perhaps, to a seasoned thief, or intruder of some sort, they may continue to come inside and shut the door and the alarm will shut off immediately. If the intruder identified the source, they could easily locate the on/off switch, or the battery compartment door to disable the unit. ( At best, this unit may provide you precious moments to grab a weapon so you can defend your family and or property in the case the unfortunate event occurs. ) ****So dollar for dollar, It's a small, but wise investment. I'd say this is well worth the money depending on the purpose you intend to use this unit for. **** I chose to give 4 stars for lacking volume control and additional double backed tape for instances where door molding effects mounting position, creating an unlevel surface. A couple of my doors have molding which create a 1/4 inch gap. I resolved this issue by purchasing additional double backed tape for the smaller strip side to level the slope off of the molding and then foam tape for the Chime side to raise it to the appropriate height. I had to get slightly creative, but these additional steps only added a couple extra minutes to the installation time. ( Hopefully the manufacturer takes note and adds these additional items to their package. ) To answer several questions you may have - Can these be used outside? *NO Not designed for outdoor use The unit must be mounted somewhere on the opening side of the door. I recommend near the top corner out of reach of children. Would I use it on a fridge or freezer? *No, read above^ Will it work on certain doors or windows? In most cases, I'd say you can make it work using additional double backed tape and or foam tape. Battery operated - LR44G batteries X4 Can these sync with current Alarm systems? *No Can these sync with each other? *No Will the Alarm feature make you go def? *Possibly ;) Can your neighbors hear the alarm from across the street? *Yes, while the door is open, anyone in the area will here the alarm and quite possibly the chime as well.

These little things are awesome and very loud

Love these alarms. I bought them as a gift and ended up buying myself a box. They are extremely loud, but that’s what you want in a purchase like this. One thing I learned is that wherever you place it first it has to stay there. The double sided sticky works a little too well

We purchased these for the doors on my father's home. He has begun to exhibit signs of dementia and will occasionally get up and wander around the house at night. The alarm is nice as you turn it on and off and can set it to either the "door bell" ring or the blaring siren; both loud enough to hear from all over the house. They were easily installed in mere minutes. The only complaint that i have it that the tape does not hold up over time. We have had to replace the tape they came with, using double sided gorilla tape instead. Overall, a great alarm.

This product was purchased to keep my little escape artist inside the house. We installed locks he can't reach but, since other people go in and out, there's no way to guarantee they stay locked ALL the time. This handy device helps fill the gap by making sure mama knows EVERY time someone goes through the door! It's VERY easy to install -- if you don't have any trim around your door. If you have trim, you'll need to either forego the alarm or cut into the trim to make a space, because this needs to sit flush. But assuming you have the space for it, just make sure the area is clean and dry and stick it on with the (included) adhesive foam strips. It comes with batteries already installed; you'll just need to remove the piece of plastic preventing them from making contact so they don't burn out prior to purchase. They are, however, some weird button batteries, so when it's time to replace them, they can't be replaced with a trusty AAA. The overall device -- both pieces -- is a little smaller than I had anticipated. I'd say it's a little smaller than two side-by-side boxes of matches. It has three settings: off, alarm, and chime. Off is pretty self-explanatory. I assume if it's set to alarm, it will go off continuously when the door or window is opened. We keep it set on chime, so it goes off once every time the door is opened. It makes a very loud, obnoxious digital chiming sound; you've probably heard it if you've ever been in a store that announces your presence with an electronic chime. It isn't a very pleasant sound if you're standing right beside it, but I'm able to hear the downstairs door from upstairs, so there are benefits to its being as loud as it is. I wish it were designed to use a AAA battery, because the button batteries are exceptionally hazardous around children, but I have no complaints about the alarm's functionality.

The sensors work great

I live in a somewhat remote rural area, and in a house with a number of downstairs windows and doors. For security reasons, and following some minor thefts in other properties nearby, I needed either a full alarm system or individual alarms for windows and doors. I saw these, and thought I would give them a try. There are two parts to each alarm - the main alarm and a smaller, magnetised piece that fits on either the door/window or door/window frame. The parts are attached to window/door by the supplied double sided sticky patch (this is a surprisingly strong bonding sticky patch, and I have no doubt it will remain in place for some time). The two pieces of the alarm shoould be attached in such a way that there is a narrow gap between the two parts. To turn the alarm on one simply moves the side switch on the main alarm piece down as far as it will go. (Moving it half way down gives a single chime when the door/window is opened). To turn off the alarm simply close the window/door, or physically move the switch to the 'off' position. The alarm itself is quite loud (110 - 120 decibels - I have seen both quoted in literature and on the box! Whatever it is, it's loud!) This package, with 12 alarms for £50 (the price I paid) has turned out to be good value as far as meeting what I needed, the ease of installation and the noise each alarm makes when triggered; as such I can recommend them. (These are my own thoughts on an item I have bought myself and found useful.)

I don't use the "Alarm" mode. I only use the "Chime" mode. I feel safer in my home knowing that, if someone opens my front door, I will hear the chime. The installation was easy. I took off one star because the "Chime" sound makes it seem like I live in a convenience store. I only use this at night, when I won't be opening my door. I am happy with this purchase. UPDATE: I've been using this for over a year, and I love it. I've bumped my star rating up from 4 to 5.
