Effective Cleaning Product for Microbial Growth — Not a Replacement for Professional Remediation
I bought the Concrobium 25001 Mold Control gallon jug to treat some areas of microbial growth I found around my property. While it’s certainly not an all-in-one solution for large mold infestations, for the tasks I needed it handled very well: cleaning and treating smaller affected spots. The product sprayed easily, felt safe to use, and after treatment the areas showed significantly less visible growth. What I liked is that it didn’t leave a strong chemical smell, and the surfaces I treated stayed cleaner over time compared to untreated spots. Because I wasn’t dealing with a full-blown mold crisis, it fit my needs perfectly. That said, if you have extensive mold growth behind walls, in HVAC systems, or in areas you can’t fully inspect or clean, this alone won’t suffice—you’ll want a professional remediation service. For surface-level treatment and as part of a broader preventive regimen, though, this product is solid. Overall, the Concrobium Mold Control gallon jug did the job I needed it to do: cleaned the microbial growth I found and gave me peace of mind for those specific areas. If you’re looking to treat smaller spots safely and effectively, it’s a good choice—but don’t treat it as a full mold remediation fix.

FREAKING AMAZING !!!!!
My (aging) house developed a roof leak I was unaware of at first bc it began in a room I dont often use which led to a whole host of problems not the least of which were mold and that God - awful musty damp smell. I tried everything short of tearing down that part of the house and rebuilding it to get rid of it but nothing worked. CONCROBIUM DID !!!! Tbh I was expecting this to be just one more (crappy) product I tried that didnt work bc I was firmly convinced that after everything I'd done and all the products I'd used there was NO way gettn rid of THAT smell could really be THAT easy (just spray and walk away - REALLY ? like I hadn't heard THAT before). Nor did I believe there was a product out there that I could actually AFFORD (mold remediation is $$$) that could both elimate the odor & keep it from coming back. I read the reviews, did some resarch, and decided to give Concrobium a shot anyway. I WAS SHOCKED !! IT WORKED !!! I LITERALLY SPRAYED IT ON AND WALKED AWAY TO LET IT DRY AND WHEN I WENT BACK A LITTLE BIT LATER THE MOLD WAS GONE ! THE STAINS WERE GONE !! THE GOD - AWFUL MUSTY, DAMP SMELL WAS GONE !!! - AND YOU COULDN'T EVEN TELL I HAD SPRAYED ANYTHING !!!! THERE WAS NO HARSH SMELL DURING OR AFTER USE, THERE WAS NO MESSY RESIDUE LEFT BEHIND, NOTHING !!!!! I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT BUT IT WORKED ! THIS STUFF IS AMAZING !!! BEST PRODUCT IVE EVER USED !!!! EASY TO APPLY AND WORKS QUICKLY ! SEEMS TO HOLD UP WELL TOO ! I will be applying it to all my walls, ceilings, etc to protect from any future growth anywhere jic i develop another leak I dont instantly know about - (call it prevenative maintenance lol) but the bottom line is this: DONT WASTE ANY TIME OR MONEY ON ANYTHING ELSE ! THIS STUFF WORKS JUST LIKE IT SAYS !! BEST $ I EVER SPENT !!! ORDERING MORE !!!!

Very good for boat seats!
This stuff is amazing! We had somewhat of a mildew smell on the boat. I treated under the seats and in all of the storage lockers, etc. The next day I noticed really white spots on my boat seats from just a little bit of overspray that happened. I ordered more of this and treated all of our seats and WOW, it's like we have a brand new boat. It wasn't like our boat was nasty and neglected, this stuff just works so well that it took off stuff you didn't realize was there. The video shows a portion of "dirty" vs. new clean. You can see some of the spots that came from the original overspray, then the before and after cleaning. Highly recommend and will do this every couple of years. Seems safe for our boat seats. We applied it with a garden sprayer, like something you'd apply weed spray with, let it dry, then wiped it down with water. The build up just melted off like butter. Few tougher spots took some elbow grease to scrub through it, but not very often.

This is how it works and everything you need to know
A lot of people read the MSDS on this and only see washing soda listed as the ingredient. You don't have to list anything in the MSDS, only give instructions on what to do if there's a spill, how flammable it is for transport, etc. MSDS (SDS) do not make you give out your formula. However, I noticed that they patented it. In a patent, you do have to tell exactly how to make it. So with that said, this is a mixture of baking soda, washing soda, TSP cleaner (trisodium phosphate), and water. You can make it yourself for about $20 for 160 gallons. However, if you only need a gallon then it's probably better just to buy this and save yourself the hassle. It works because mold doesn't like the sodium or the alkaline environment created by the ingredients. Because it is only baking soda, washing soda, and trisodium phosphate with no binding agent it will just wash off. If you are spraying a non-porous like a piece of unpainted wood, then the wood would suck it in. If you spray glass, for instance, it will not be absorbed and you can just wipe it off. If you use this on painted walls, it will leave a dusty appearance, so you can't use it on dark paint. You can spray it, kill the mold, and then wipe it off. I don't think you could wipe painted walls off though as they would be too big. You will see them say that the product must dry to work. This is because the product is heavily diluted with the water (98% water) but once dry, it's 100% of the "active ingredients" on the surface which raises the PH and condenses the salts. I used this on an antique cabinet that smelled mildewy. It took care of the smell by about 75%. I think there are nooks and crannies that I can't reach for the other 25%. It is truly non-toxic and while there is a smell from the trisodium phosphate, it goes away quickly. There are no "VOCs" because there's no carbon in the mixture. Concronuim is EPA registered, which costs A LOT of money. This means that they had to prove to the EPA that their product does work through laboratory experiments that the EPA says they have to do. To the makers of Concronuim, I say kudos for coming up with such a novel way to kill mold, that is truly safe, and taking the steps with the EPA to back up their claims. While it is only baking soda, washing soda, and TSP, the science is sound that mold does not like these chemicals. By that I mean don't think that other products are more effective just because they contain dangerous chemicals that you can't pronounce. I cannot find any reason not to use this over something else.

Finally the solution!
OMG!! After years of fighting the moldy musty odor in my summer cabin (which is actually a trailer sitting in a wooded lot), I have for the first time opened up without the waft of mold up my nose. I used this with the Fogmaster Jr. 1 gallon was more than enough to totally coat my 2 bedroom double wide trailer. I put long extension cord on the Fogmaster, and instead of setting and forgetting it.....I used the Fogmaster to mist every inch of the trailer with Concrobium. I shot it up on the ceilings, inside and outside the cupboards, on the windows, walls, across all the furnishings and bedding. I don't have super nice stuff, so I was not concerned about bleaching or staining the furniture...but it didn't. This stuff has no odor and is non-toxic. The only evidence I see of the product is a slight film on the windows and mirrors. Not sure if I wipe it off whether I open the door for mold growth again. Note: I had completely cleaned the trailer in the fall prior to closing up, by wiping all hard surfaces with a bleach solution. In early spring there is still odor of mold. I coated everything with Concrobium in April, returned in June after a wet spring....No Odor!! I also set out many Damp Rid moisture eliminators. Don't know how long the effect will last, but it was really easy to apply. I am very happy.

Great for water and mildew spots, probably useful for mold.
I first ordered Concrobium in May 2020 (for $37) and twice again in June 2020 (for $75 total) after being refunded for the first order that never made it to me, and would have to say it may work effectively. I used it to instantly clean up what I thought were mold stains but were actually mildew and water spots and then wound up giving my last bottle away. The solution itself also seems to be a largely salt/water compound according to the labeling, which is easy enough to make at home given a proper recipe, possibly making it redundant. Nonetheless it unintentionally did the job, and for that this “Concrobium Mold Control Household Cleaners, 1 Gallon” gets a serviceable 3/5 stars!
