Workin' out great
It's been three months and so far it's still working great. This is ever so slightly coarser than the original part, but the original part is also broken in half and unobtainable. So I'm a happy camper!

Great!
Glad that this was still available for my nearly 40 year old Cuisinart DLC-7 Super Pro. I initially had a problem with the "stem" on this item not sliding all the way down on the "post" on the Cuisinart; I solved that by using a little Canola Oil on the post and in the stem to lubricate it a little, which solved the problem.

BEWARE: There are multiple sizes of this part. CALL CUISINART TO FIND YOUR PROPER PART #
The detachable stem part is specific to your food processor model. Although they look the same on line.....they are NOT the same. My husband ordered the part but I didn't use it right away. I later found out it didn't fit my machine - after the return window had closed. UG. Now I'm stuck with it.I called Cuisinart today to get the correct part (their website is a HOT MESS for parts - call and ask for what you need and they can help) so my machine should last another 20 years!

Excellent quality
Fits my 40 year old, 14 cup Cuisinart which still operates as the first time I used it. Perfect replacement stem. The second one I’ve had to purchase over the years. Excellent quality & fits the discs as the original.

Use Caution and Test Locking pin before using.
This is the correct replacement part for the detachable stem on a DLC-7, however it's REAL IMPORTANT to know that the replacement parts for the older Cuisinart units are now made in China, so as always with all things made in China, quality consistency is not 100% reliable.Test the strength of the locking mechanism by attaching it to a blade, carefully turning that blade upside down on your counter and then see if you can twist it off, or if it stays locked like it is supposed to. If the stem unlocks from the blade when you do this, the replacement stem is defective and needs to be returned and replaced.I have purchased 2 detachable stems from Gourmet Kitchen Gallery and both have been good, but I learned this lesson the hard way when the first detachable stem I purchased from another vendor didn't stay locked - the blade flew off the stem at high speed and cracked my bowl, which I will now have to replace in the near future when my husband gets tired of pressing down on the locking mechanism in the back of the bowl. I actually glued one of the stems to the 8mm slicing blade we use most often with some really strong torque resistant glue, and then use the other stem with all the other blades.

So happy this was available
I was a bit worried about the cost of replacing parts if something went wrong with such a pricey food processor, but when mine broke, I was able to find this part which allowed me to keep using my Cuisinart. This food processor isn't cheap, and buying a whole new one just for a small part seemed crazy. But with the Detachable Stem, I found a way around that. It's way cheaper than getting a whole new machine, and it works fine!It works just as well as the original. Chopping, slicing, shredding – you name it, this thing handles it like a champ. If something on your Cuisinart breaks, I highly recommend searching Amazon for a replacement part. It’s saved me money and hassle, and I couldn’t be happier with it.
