Excellent light. Hardly shows when you look at it, sonit doesn't scare the wildlife. Illuminates the garden wonderfully for my wildlife camera. Makes the garden look like the floodlights are on, without disturbing the neighbours. Dusk to dawn feature is very useful.

Solid and well made, but it doesn’t come with a 3m power lead as stated, more like 1 metre. If you’re using it as a dummy camera, it’s totally convincing with the permanent I R lights, however considering the price, you’re just as well buying an actual cctv camera for less and simply hooking it up to power.

I bought this as I read online the PSVR2 uses infrared cameras. Having a setup in the front room with a projector the room can be very dark. Granted we could put the lights on but it kills the ambiance. This works really well. The room is pitch black but when on and VR on the room is fully illuminated, crazy. Really helps with the tracking. Only reason for me it didn't get 5 stars is the mounting, its meant to be for outdoor use so on a wall, so doesn't look good laying on a shelf. That's the only criticism so 4.5 for me. By the way it's not a camera, just an infrared light.

Verified Purchase Product: Tonton IR Illuminator 850 nm I installed this in my garden (roughly 10 × 10 m) — properly mounted about 2.5 m high, facing directly into the garden. It claims to switch on automatically when there’s insufficient light for cameras to see. Well, it’s 9 p.m., pitch dark, and my cameras show nothing but black. I went outside and checked — the IR LEDs are visibly glowing red, so it’s definitely powered and switched on. The wiring’s correct, alignment’s perfect, but there’s zero IR illumination. Both of my cameras (which work fine with other IR sources) show no improvement whatsoever. Even my phone camera, which normally picks up IR light, detects nothing. I couldn’t return it in time due to being in hospital, but honestly, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Pros: Sturdy metal housing Easy to install Cons: Emits almost no usable IR light Doesn’t illuminate even a small 10 m garden Useless for night-vision cameras Missed return window = expensive paperweight Verdict: This unit is a complete dud. The seller is fine, but the product itself simply does not work as advertised. Avoid it and look for a better brand

I can not understand the negative comments of this infra red light. As you can see by my two photos, the darker one is my ring outdoor security camera light and the second much brighter is with this light switched on along with it. There’s a massive difference in the quality of the night vision. Those of you that are not happy with the light this infra red light gives off, I suggest you invest in a highly expensive one and not just spend under £30 and expect it to give the light that a football pitch floodlight gives. I challenge anyone to buy a cheaper unit and get the quality of night vision this unit gives. Don’t listen to the negative comments as this is a cracking unit for the money. My pictures don’t lie. By the way a tip for positioning of the light, make sure it’s secured and pointing in the same direction of your video camera and not pointing towards it or across it as this will not give you 100% of the benefit this light gives out. .....Added 19th April 2025 This unit is now just over 3 years old. Been on 24/7 and is still working as good as the first day I fitted it.

A fantastic product Set this up to monitor my pets in the garden at night, using an ir scope the garden is in full light even in total darkness. Would highly recommend.

this is not my first IR illuminator by far (run 12 ip and 9 analog cameras from ptz to ampr) but swapped to try it out following its generally good reviews. Claims a 100ft illumination capability, but I have found anything over 15m (approx 45 ft) useless and there are many far cheaper options out there that should do the same. Indeed I would suggest that this illuminator is far weaker than the vast majority of camera built in IR illuminators. would I buy again ? definitely NO.

With the dark months here this is a great ir illuminator, supplements the cctv camera’s ir, it improves the detail and clarity of the image and vastly improves the ir visibility distance especially handy if you have a movable camera.
