Love ot
Very easy to put together. Thank you to the reviewer who told people to set the clock first. I know it says it in the directions but people tend to skip over stuff and read it after they made the mistake. Hate clocks with the wrong time !!! It has a power cord and a battery backup Sound quality on the. CDs is great. The radio is ok. Certainly is loud enough and the volume can be adjusted I prefer to use the stand and it does take up more space than a reg clock radio. The instructions for setting up radio stations a little confusing but the scan feature lets you get your favorite station fast enough. Alarm wakes you with a cd, radio,or tradional sound. You can also set it to play for a set time to put you to sleep Remote let’s you turn it on or off from your bed It is a pretty versatile thing for a very reasonable price

Perfect for the price!
I bought this Jensen CD player to be able to listen to CDs while hanging out in my apartment. I was not looking for an impressive system, just something that would 1) mount to the wall, 2) play CDs, & 3) had an aux input (1/8" or 3.5mm) in case I would like to stream music via cell phone or computer. For the price, this is a lovely CD player/radio/aux input device. It is very easy to mount on the wall (requires simple drilling) & has a surprisingly good sound despite its build. The speakers are detachable & a stand is included in case the user would prefer to set the unit on a table surface. The remote control includes a new battery so it's ready to go out of the box. Although my unit stays on the wall, I could easily lift it off the screws & take it anywhere I liked without touching any tools. Very convenient. I especially love the CD ALARM function. I use this player to wake up in the morning instead of my crap a** cell phone ring tones which just irritate me before my eyes are even open. Every morning I wake up to a CD at whatever volume I set the night before. This alone has improved the quality of my life haha My only complaints are that the player automatically places a brief moment between all CD tracks. I own several albums that do not have space between certain songs but the player places a gap between them anyways. Not a deal-breaker, but slightly disruptive if you expect one track to flow continuously into the next. Also, while the digital display has a pleasant blue glow it can be difficult to read except for looking slightly down on the unit. My player is mounted on the wall at about eye-level & most of the time I can't tell what track number I am listening to. Whatever. Aside these couple of minor gripes, the Jensen CD player exceeds my expectations in this price bracket ($40). Anyone who says they "expected the unit to be larger" should have read the dimensions. Anyone expecting "super-amazing sound quality" out of a $40 plastic unit has no concept of what real speakers even feel like to touch. Do you need a simple player in your kid's room or the kitchen? Do you need an easy-to-use player for your classroom or grandmother that doesn't like techy stuff? It's hard to beat this Jensen player for $40.

Purchased in Aug 2020 and../2024 updated review (at end)
Purchased this in Aug 2020. So I've used this fairly consistently until today. It's worked well, sound is ok, though I found it difficult to operate. The manual is too freaking small to read, even with a magnifying lens. My problem is the remote, you can not operate it easily without it. And Now I can't operate the remote. I can't get the battery compartment to open. My next step would be to take a hammer to it. the remote is very difficult to read and I have difficulty remembering where the play button is, and I can't see it. I have low cision, and this player has preformed well up until now. I'm buying a different brand and I'm done with this one. replaced the remote and it doesn't work well, speakers are not good.

Good value
Because it can be mounted on the wall it saves counter space, a considerable benefit in our kitchen. The remote works well, but honestly the sound is not high quality. We enjoy putting on a CD for dinner, but the CD controls take some experimentation.

The unit looks great on the wall, it was easy to mount with the template to follow as to where to put the holes. As it's not a heavy unit, I just put little nails in the wall as if I were hanging a picture and put the unit on those nails. The unit plays well, looks sharp and sounds very good. The instructions are very clear on how to program in stations, no problems at all. However, the remote control SUCKS big time. You practically have to be directly right in front of the unit and no more than 12 inches away for it to work. Even when sitting at my desk, 4 feet from the unit, slightly to the side, the remote does not work. This is very very inconvenient when I have to answer the phone at my desk and have to get up out of my chair and go over to the radio to turn the volume down using the remote. The remote SUCKS. If you can live with that, I'd recommend purchasing this unit.

Hard to add much to the previous reviews. This radio was bought for the kitchen/ dining room for general use and "ambience". Not much is expected. It just has to sound "decent" and provide the basic functions. In that regard it does just fine, or excells. Perhaps what is of note is that it doesn't do anything "wrong". That is, for price/ performance there is little to complain about. The radio/ combo works well. Personally, I do not like the blue back lights. Other than that, it does the job just fine. What comes out of the stock speakers sounds just fine, and there is plenty of volume. The remote has all the functions you would want. For the price and the performance, I have no complaints. Pay more; perhaps ypu'll get more (better speakers, more audio, etc), but I suspect you'll pay a LOT more. Over all, it looks good, operates without much learning curve and sounds good or at least decent. Yes, I'd recommend it. At the end of the day you'll get a fair bit of function, and a decent AM/FM CD player that does the job. Recommended.
