Tripod Mount Ring B (W) for Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L is II USM & EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L is USM

I really have nothing to complain about for this price. Build quality is not as good as the OEM Canon collar but it's definitely not that bad and fully usable - and at a VERY small fraction of what Canon charges (if you can even find one from Canon - which I cannot). Also - I'm not sure if others are installing it backwards or what - but if you install it with the 'groove' over the raised bolt heads at the base of the lens (which is really the only logical way you CAN install it), then it functions 100% fine. I can rotate the collar 360 degrees - this is on my Canon 70-200 f2.8L IS mk II lens. I should also point out that it's actually EASIER (and faster) to put on and take off than the OEM version because of the hinge. Canon's does not have a hinge and must be slid off the back of the lens (meaning the lens cannot be on a camera).

I was given this lens by a newspaper that no longer wanted/needed it but they did not have the original tripod collar when it was given to me. This item looked like a perfect, fully functional replacement. I have only had this product for two weeks now(shipping was a little slow) but so far it has been perfect. It clamped onto my lens firmly and held it securely while I attempted to budge the lens and hasn't moved after two weeks of hobby photography use almost daily. The inside has a nice foam that clamps without damaging the lens and the construction seems high quality. The mounting flat has two holes just like the original and the thumb screw locked right down on set-up. The color is slightly off from the lens, but that is not something I care about or that anyone will notice unless looking for it. If it develops a problem I will edit this review but as long as there is no edit, you know this mounting ring is still working fantastic. Shipping was a terrible wait but for such a high quality item at such a reasonable price, it was worth the wait.

After finding a crazy deal on a 35-350mm on eBay, I was only missing a tripod ring. Now this lens is by no means new, so finding one that said it would fit was super difficult unless I wanted to send Canon a bunch more of my money. Even though the listing doesn't specifically say that it fits, I started researching and doing some cross-referencing and then took a chance. Luckily it fit like a glove and has be performing flawlessly!

I love that this mount is super sturdy. It’s got weight to it also. It grips my larger camera lens perfectly! I do wish however this would come in a darker color. That’s me just being picky. :) The only con I would say is that the screw is harder to get it wiggles in there but I am sure after plenty of use things will loosen up a bit. Very happy with my purchase. Would recommend for anyone looking to get that camera held up properly!

I got what seemed to be a manufacturing error, and since other reviews have been very positive I assume it's a fairly rare one. The holes for the screw to secure the two sides of the collar together don't align (as you can see in the pictures). The product overall seems pretty solid to me and I was impressed with the quality of the materials. The entire thing is metal, and it has a plastic insert to protect the lens from scuffing. It also has a little ridge for the nails sticking out from the lens to fit into so that once the collar is on and loosened slightly it can slide around without falling off entirely (I assume, since wasn't able to fit it to my lens). It matches the lens color pretty well, and the joint of the collar seems secure. I'm going to return it and try again, since the product itself was so good. Considering Canon no longer manufactures tripod mounts for this lens, I'd say this is a decent alternative --as long as you get one that'll actually screw on to your lens.

Spent hours scouring the web for a collar for this lens. Can't even find it on the Canon website...had to call Canon parts for information. Ordered this one only because someone else indicated it would fit this lens. They are correct. It is very similar to the collar from Canon for my Canon 70-200 f/2.8 IS USM. Differences are that this one is hinged, doesn't have the cut outs to slide on over the little lens bolts and color is just slightly different. BUT.... Color - could care less that it's slightly different. No cut outs for the bolts - not a problem because it's hinged which allows for you open it up enough to put on over the little lens bolts rather than slide on like the Canon one does, and on the inside there is a grove wide enough to allow for the little bolts to sit in it nicely. Added bonus is there are two tripod mount sizes vs. the Canon one which only offers one size. There is no problem working the zoom ring with this collar on. Paid $130 for the Canon one with shipping and sales tax, so I'd order this one again any day. Although the shipping was quoted as longer in my confirmation, I received in 10 days. Not too bad!

The quality of the tripod mount is quite impressive. Its good and sturdy. I actually like this better than I did my Canon one. This one seems more solid and you dont have to worry about unscrewing it too far. It fit perfectly on my lens and i am very happy with it. It was easy to use and get on the lens, it feels very secure. There are also 2 different size screw ins in the bottom so depending on the size you need you can connect it.
