This is so yummy with popcorn. The size is perfect. It will take me a long time to use it all. The ingredients are so good. It reminds me of the classic popcorn from the movie theater. The aroma is so wonderful. There are so many recipes you can try with this product, not just on popcorn. The versatility is great. I’ll be buying this again when I run out.

This stuff helped me make the best homemade popcorn I've ever had. I used some ratios I read online: 1/2 a cup of kernels mixed with 3/4ths of a teaspoon of Flavacol (ultra-fine popcorn salt) + 3 tablespoons of this coconut oil in a stainless steel pot, popped at medium-high heat. It was immediately delicious and perfectly-salted, though I did add some butter-flavored topping to the final bowl since I love the stuff. But yeah this oil makes a huge difference compared to popping in anything else. I even tried mixing clarified butter with normal coconut oil once, which was good, but this is in a league of its own. It's movie theater popcorn flavor in a jar, it's super spot on, salty with just the faintest hint of sweetness. Extremely flavorful and addictive. I see quite a few reviews complaining about the consistency of this coconut oil, either saying that it's too watery or too solid. Yes, both of those things are true - because it's coconut oil, which solidifies at a pretty low temperature (78 degrees F if I'm not mistaken), and therefore melts easily as well. That's just how coconut oil is, it doesn't represent a problem with this product at all. And even when it solidifies, it's still perfectly usable, you just gave to give it a minute to melt before adding the kernels. So please don't let those reviews deter you from purchasing a fantastic product. This stuff is delicious, and 2lbs for around $12 is the best deal I was able to find online for any popcorn coconut oil (aside from restaurant stores with high shipping costs). I don't think I'll ever be able to enjoy popcorn cooked in any other oil ever again, this stuff is just perfect.

This is the best oil for making popcorn in my Stir Crazy. Using this and Flavacol makes my popcorn taste just as good if not better than the popcorn I get at the movies.

Makes the popcorn taste amazing and doesn’t give me a tummy ache like some oils do

I have an event venue on my property we are building out and I do food. Popcorn is always a popular item. For years, I've used regular butter flavored oil with good results. My partners in the venue also run a very old historic movie theater. I noticed when we went to the movies there and I gorged myself on way too much popcorn with extra extra butter it didn't make me nauseous as other theaters did. When I asked, they laughed and said it's coconut oil. What a game changer. I have to think if the other oil bothered my stomach and will definitely admit it's not a healthy choice that it happens to others. This oil changed everything. It works great in my popper and the flavor is old fashioned butter. It does have the golden yellow like real butter. I really can't say enough good about it and I can eat to my heart's content. This is an excellent product.

I have always popped popcorn on the stove it’s so much better that way. If you want movie theater popcorn this is the oil to buy. Very good indeed.

Use this with Flavacol and you'll have the secret to popcorn that tastes just like it does in the movie theaters. The downside is that it's just as unhealthy as movie theater popcorn. While Golden Barrel promotes coconut oil as being healthier for you than butter, it actually has more saturated fat, which is why I deducted one star. There are 12 grams of saturated fat per tablespoon, and the instructions on the jar say to use three tablespoons per 1/3 cup of popcorn kernels. Popped, that amount is around a medium bag of theater popcorn. About enough for two people to share. If you're watching your cholesterol, stay away. Otherwise, like everything, enjoy this product in moderation. This isn't for your everyday popcorn consumption.

I really like this popcorn oil It has a really nice butter taste. I find you have to use quite a bit though to get a good flavor, 3 table spoons. I do not like the smell but you do not notice it when it's on your popcorn. It is very expensive though so if you can afford it I would get it. I paid around $50 CAD. I do not have any experience with other brands yet. I use a whirly pop with flavacol and make a full bucket.
