This is the coolest thing since sliced bread!!!
I bought this printer after a bad experience with a much more exspensive, huge, noisy, ink jet photo printer, scanner, fax, all in one thing. This tiny printer is actually portable, you could easily take it on a vacation and print your photo's every day, it would be a blast at a wedding or event. It's so simple to use - my non-techno husband can use it. The print quality is good (not great - but hey, it's for snapshots)the dye sublimation process is really cool - prints come out dry, just like WalMart and the price for the printer is fabulous - I paid $79. I think each print is about 33 cents, a little more exspensive than WalMart, but we live in the country and the nearest photo place is 20 miles away. The only downside - you can't do much in the way of photo enhancement in the printer itself - if you need to crop etc, you have to download into a computer, enhance and then print from your computer. But it's a really cool little printer for the casual photographer!!! Our whole family - even the grandkids love it!

Selphy Printer
Never Used. Easier with a full printer.

Great, I mean great, photo printer
I needed to print pics of my family after cataloguing a ton of photos on my computer. Compact, portable, inexpensive, and excellent quality for 4 X 6 prints only (also 4X8) - which most of us use for albums anyway. It's so easy to use, and produces prints so much better than inkjet printers because this is a dye-sublimation printer - which means that the color is laid down in layers like traditional color film (remember this) print processing - yellow, red, then cyan(blue). Like layer cake. Don't try to use an all in one inkjet to try to have everything you need in a home office in one machine - they cannot compare to this little workhorse. Do yourself and your family a favor and get this to print your photos - if you want them bigger (8x10, 14x17) you'll go to the print shop anyway.

Doesn't work
Right out of the box. The selphie 780 wouldn't work. Kept coming up ink cartridge error. It was the biggest let down so far. Now dealing with trying to download the return label. When your old. It's hard to stay on top of things. I told my wife. When ordering on Amazon. You would expect good quality junk. Not junk.

NONE of the Canon Selphys are compatible with latest Mac OS
I enjoyed the convenience and small size of this printer UNTIL my Mac's operating system was updated and Canon decided it wasn't important to offer new print drivers. So now I am forced to replace my photo printer because it's incompatible with my computer. At least I got a few good years out of this printer, though. Shockingly the latest Selphy models have this same flaw: they are NOT compatible with Mac OS X El Capitan, much less the even newer Mac OS Sierra. So I can't even just upgrade to the latest Selphy model. Instead, I am now buying an Epson. Very disappointed in Canon!

Exactly what I wanted!
Setup was very simple, it's small, it prints relatively quickly and the print quality is great! This is exactly what I was looking for in a compact photo printer. I just hope it lasts for a long time without any problems. But as of now, excellent product. Update (2/27/2013): It worked well and photos came out looking great... until it broke. Cartridge jam resulted in an un-salvageable unit - couldn't get cartridge out, tried to take the whole thing apart to clean up the mess left inside and get the cartridge out, but there is no easy way of doing this with such a tiny printer. Had to trash the whole thing.. now debating if I should buy another or just order prints from local pharmacy. Disappointed that this happened without much wear on the printer (it wasn't used frequently).

great single task printer
The printer prints great from the included card reader. I found the prints from a computer to be too dark, i'll probably need to tweak the brightness control and be ok after that. It does not read xD cards natively, so you will need to either connect the camera to the usb port of the printer or use an xD to Compact Flash Adapter if your camera uses xD cards. The printer comes with a starter pack of 5 sheets andf enough ink for 5 pages. Buy the packs of 108 prints at amazon and save. price per page is about twice as much as costco but the convenience it great. What are we supposed to do with the film cassettes ? are they recyclable/ refillable ? If canon reads this, please tell us. The screen is small and low resolution, making it difficult to decide if a print will be sharp. Compared to the screen on my camera (ricoh cx1) it's ridiculously worse. What i care about it that it prints well. It does so i will give 4 stars.
