Perfect Clamps - Strong Grip and Super Versatile!
These spring clamps are absolutely fantastic! I use them for everything from photography setups to home projects and they've been incredibly versatile. The grip strength is perfect - strong enough to hold securely but easy enough to position quickly. The quality construction is evident and they feel very durable. I love how lightweight yet sturdy they are. The spring mechanism works smoothly every time and hasn't weakened at all. Great for backdrop support, organizing cables, securing tarps, and countless other uses. The 6-pack gives you plenty to work with and the 3.75" size is just right for most applications. These have become an essential tool in my kit!

Smaller that I thought, but work perfectly for my purposes
In purchased this set to hang a banner from a Background Stand Backdrop Support System Kit 8ft by 10ft wide By Fancier Studio TB30 . These work, but the tips are separated a full inch with I am clamping the banner to the cross member bar on the backdrop support system. I worked around that by rolling about two inches of the top part of the banner, and these clamps hold it perfectly in place. The actual clamps are about 3.75 inches end-to-end, and will open a full 2.5 inches. If you want the actual tips to be the clamping surface you will need a cross member 3/8 of an inch of less. For anything larger, you can do as I and roll a portion of the top of a banner or backdrop over the cross member bar and these will work well. For my purposes these are relatively sturdy, and the tips are actually self-adjusting, which is a nice feature. Moreover, the tips are made of a softer material than the clamp, so they are less likely to mar a surface while the textured faces provide a positive grip.

Not bad, Updated 8 years later... STILL GOING STRONG!!!
These are not the best quality in the world. As their name implies, they are cheaply made and light weight but they are also priced cheap and will do in a pinch. If you are looking for something that will last you a long time with heavy use or are rugged, keep looking. If you just want something for light use and don't mind potentially replacing them sooner than later, give these a try. UPDATE: 8 YEARS LATER, THEY ARE STILL BEING USED! Changing from 3☆'s to 5☆'s HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Great for sweeps
Generally I'll use binder clips to position and weight poster board down when I use it as a sweep but lately I've been using a velvet type material (velveteen it's called) and the binder clips don't have enough reach or depth to get around the supports so I bought these. They work very well for light weight applications. I have the larger cheaplights also, 4 1/2", that I use to keep muslin backdrops taut and they work very well that way. I did write a different review on them. Some reviewers are using the 3 3/4" to hold 10' x 20' backdrops and wonder why they fail. They're insane for doing that. First, let's look at the name of this product, Cheaplights, which easily equates to light duty. Duh! To hold large backdrops get some Pony clamps. I have a half dozen each of 1", 2" and 3" Pony clamps. They are far more expensive but they are heavy duty. Basically, use the correct tool for the job.

Great quality
These were great for their price. Comparable to the ones at the local hardware store! And they didn't tear or hurt my fabric backdrop! They were strong and I didn't have to re-position them all the time. Once I got them set, they stayed secure all night (approximately 4-5 hours). Easy to squeeze to open them and they are the perfect size for backdrop supports.

Just as described
The seller gets 5 stars because the item was delivered on time and it was exactly as described. The only downside to this is that these clips cost me $7 at the time of purchase and you don't really need these to hold a backdrop. You can use clothes pins or possibly find a cheaper alternative at your local big box home improvement store and I didn't think about that until I received them. On the flip side of that coin they do help your set up look professional, so it's not a bad investment at all. They look and work as described, arrived on time and were less than $10!

Cheap - as the name suggests
These little springs fit in the palm of your hand. I was hoping for Hardware store type Springs as the image made me thing it was such a size - but that was an assumption. My only concern is that the orange grips look that they will break off. If they do teh Hardware store Springs would be the same cost and long lasting.

Works great for me.
I use these to hold items to the edge of an aquarium. They are simple to use. Strong, but not overly strong. Will hold up fish traps, hoses, bags, and whatever else I need it too when working with my aquariums. Great little package of clamps!
