I wonder why it shows only even numbers for temperature. I've seen the same complaint by others. I put a fresh Eveready alkaline battery, same thing.

I have 4 units of the AcuRite 00325 thermometer and not a one ever shows even numbers for Fahrenheit temperatures, e.g., 72, 68. They only show odd numbers, e.g., 73, 75, 77, 79, 81. I've never set them to Celsius.

One AA alkaline battery, ideal. Size is one of most commonly available. Lasts longer than AAA. Many similar portable digital humidity-temperature devices use smaller button batteries, which are less available and more problematic to replace correctly.

Does it display historically highs and lows, or only from the last day or so?

It resets every 24 hours from when you put in the battery. I deliberately pulled the battery one night so that the data would reset for each day when I wanted it to.

I'm thinking of using this hygrometer to keep track of the humidity in my acoustic guitar's case. Do you think it would work well for this purpose?

I keep one in my guitar case, one in my banjo case, and one in the room I play music in (for when the instruments are not in a case). You may have to play with the geometry a slight bit to find the best place to put it in the instrument case but they work well for that purpose.
