A fun and sassy no-nonsense invitation to the practice of astrology with easy-to-understand tools for self-development and conscious living Astrology books are typically either overly simplistic sun-sign books or overly complicated chart calculations filled with astro jargon. Astrology for Real Life goes beyond simple sun-sign interpretation and at the same time cuts through the complications of horoscope analysis to make understanding your chart in depth, simple and easy. The goal is to make astrology accessible to total newbies and provide a working reference guide for intermediates. The book is presented in workbook format exploring each part of chart interpretation―signs, planets, houses, aspects―with exercises following each chapter and fill-in-the-blank lessons that take the reader through all the just-learned steps. The tone is warm, fun, and personal, and the exercises give the reader experiential hands-on practice. The end result: once you learn the basics in Astrology for Real Life , you can easily navigate the cosmos by making them work for you. It’s kind of like a roadmap where we begin by understanding the terrain and the tools available. From there, the planets will guide you in making brave, excellent choices in love, work, and life. It’s profound, fun, and practical. You’ll learn how to interpret your chart with confidence and use astrology in a practical, proactive way, with no astro excuses (blaming the stars for your issues). This is the astrology book you are looking for.
I would give this book 100 out of 5 stars if it were possible. This is hands down the best astrology book that I have ever come across. Theresa Reed cuts through all the mystery. The book is easy to read, entertaining, and chock full of all the things you ever wanted to know, and all the things you never knew existed when it comes to astrology. By the end of the book, you have the potential of casting your own daily horoscope. The exercises included are easy, personal, and help to nail down the lessons quickly. I was really impressed by just how much I had learned even a quarter of the way through the book. I can’t praise this book enough!

A Must-Read for both new and experienced astrologers
I bought this book out of guilt. I follow the author on Facebook and, after agreeing that we should all support each other, decided to put my money where my mouth is! And I'm so glad I did. I've been studying astrology in one way or another since the I was a kid in the mid-70s. I am no newbie. I can do a really decent read of a chart, or so I thought. I'm about half-way through the second section (fundamentals) of this book, and I've already quantum-leaped forward in my understanding about charts, trends, and how to get a read. Things I've never noticed are now jumping out at me, and I'm certain it will only get better as I progress. I have a lot of charts I've done on friends and family on hand to practice, and the author's techniques work across the lot of them. I would highly recommend this book if you want to jump in and start reading charts for yourself and others. You will not be sorry to spend the money.

Great book but needs more space as a workbook
Overall I love this book and it’s content. Some info was new and other parts were a great, thorough review of astrology. Definitely worth having. The only things I would have liked differently would have been more room to write answers and reproducible/tear-out pages for practicing on others. It didn’t really seem like a “workbook” to me from what I’ve been used to all my life in using workbooks. It was more like a reason book with some lines and charts for filling in but again they were kind of small spaces and once filled in they’re done. Really hard to photocopy sections that were amongst text and small with the center binding in the way, etc. I would have loved an appendix maybe with all the answer pages to tear out and photocopy. Otherwise it’s a great book. I’m just having to have a separate notebook for writing in others’ answers as I practice and learn.

The Astrology Book I Wished For Years Ago!
Astrology for Real Life - A No B.S. Guide for the Astro-Curious is the Astrology book I wished for years ago! Also a perfect gift to start someone on a life-long love and understanding of Astrology which might have seemed daunting in the past. Theresa includes nuances and tips which I haven’t come across before. I like how Theresa presents & lays out the workbook; it’s practical, fun & interactive! After the chapters you have your “astrocise" and journaling so you can work with your own chart to reinforce what was covered. As a Numerologist I like the way Theresa presents the “high vibe” and “low vibe” with the signs, houses and planets and how they play with each other. As she mentions “You can choose to manifest the positive or negatives in your chart, (I don’t believe in “bad” charts; I believe in tendencies but we still have the free will to choose how we want to show up in the world.” You will gain a greater understanding of the energy of the planets, houses and signs relating to us personally and collectively starting from our Natal chart and as they move through the heavens, so you can see how their energy is effecting you now and in the future. Yes, Theresa shows you how to work your way around that tricky Ephemeris “like a Bawse”! You’re going to love this book; discovering more about Astrology to help you in current & future planning, living intentionally and having some tricks up your sleeve for those planetary events! Amazing book for beginners like me
I love this book. I’ve read it about three times already. I actually pre-ordered it and it came about a week before it was scheduled to come out!! I just started in May, really studying astrology and I was finding it to be overwhelming, but this book lays it out in simple terms. The humor from Theresa is definitely well written into these pages. I have been able to focus on getting the base information down before I start really going to town on the more advanced topics. This has been the perfect book, thank you Theresa for writing this book.

One of the best astrology books I've ever read
I don't consider myself an astrology newbie—I've been studying it in an ad hoc fashion for some years. Even so, I learned so much from Theresa Reed's ASTROLOGY FOR REAL LIFE. The content is beyond comprehensive and presented in an easily accessible manner even if you don't know a lick about horoscopes. Sun signs and planets? They're all here, but ASTROLOGY FOR REAL LIFE also delves into deeper astrological waters such as chart progressions, astroids, and chart patterns. Reed is able to offer the nitty-gritty but also pan back to put everything she's presented into context. Also, her writing is really witty, like your real life smart-as-heck girlfriend who just wants to spill the tea on everything you ever wanted to know about astrology, and then some. In summation, ASTROLOGY FOR REAL LIFE is *the* astrology book I wish I'd had way back when. Highly recommended.

fabulous!
Although I haven't read any others, this book has to be one of the best "how to" astrology books out there. Everything is explained in an easy to read, easy to understand manner with lots of references to other books, and websites so you are continually wanting to learn more! My copy is already covered in post-it notes, highlights and margin notes! I've made flash cards to help memorize things, and journaled others, as per the authors suggestion. I highly recommend this book if you are at all interested in learning how to make and read a horoscope, or if you just want to learn how they actually work. I am hooked! And all because of this wonderful book. Thanks Theresa Reed, you are an author beyond compare!

If I Could Give This Book 100 Stars..
If I Could Give This Book 100 Stars...I most certainly would. Why? Because it's the book that is finally enabling me to wrap my head around how all this stuff works. It is an absolute gem. Easy and fun to read. A Beautifully written masterpiece presenting often difficult to digest concepts in well structured bite size and easily digestible format. I have a few other astrology books ranging from basic to advanced-yet I could never quite grasp the structure and picture of astrology. This book has not only bridged that gap but given me exactly what I always needed to actually ENJOY astrology. Thank you soooooo much Theresa Reed.
