So I came to try lithium orotate because my daughter is bipolar and she seemed to think it would help me. I'm not bipolar, although I think everyone tends to have mood swings sometimes, but I didn't think it would help me. She's taking medical lithium, a much higher dosage, and when she recommended it to me she was recommending that. Not one to just dismiss something my daughter tells me (even though I thought she was wrong), I did some research on this mineral, and lo and behold, found that it's an essential mineral that most of us are lacking in our diets. Communities that have high concentrations in the water have much better overall mental health and lower incidence of suicide. Though I hadn't been having any severe mood swings, I did have some issues with anxiety, and I had been drinking every day. Not really getting drunk, but drinking every day, like a bottle of wine or 4-5 beers, just enough to take the edge off and help me go to sleep. I did want to cut back on that, and particularly I would wake up with anxiety, probably a form of emotional hangover. Since I found that it was so reasonably priced at Swanson I decided to give it a try. If you're like many who try this supplement (as it is an essential, necessary dietary mineral), you may not notice an obvious response right away, but you will notice a positive change. In my opinion, this is one supplement that you can definitely notice is working. I really do notice it if I run out. If you've ever been plagued with feelings of dread, you may benefit from this supplement. In theory, everyone should benefit from this supplement, since it's an essential mineral, but some of us will be noticing its effects more than others. When I was reading reviews about this supplement on another website, someone said "it's guaranteed to raise your vibration." I understood what he meant by that, because anxiety brings more anxiety, lowers your vibration and can even bring other unwanted manifestations into your life. I think I can safely say that since I began taking lithium orotate (as well as some other select supplements, but LO is the one I credit with the most change in my mental health), I have also been able to virtually eliminate my daily alcohol habit (no longer daily or even weekly) that my vibration has indeed been raised and my outlook has improved immensely. I've heard that some people find it helpful when withdrawing from some opiate drugs. (Please do not take this as a recommendation that anyone withdrawing from opiate drugs try to use this as their sole method of help in such a scenario; I'm not a physician.) At any rate, I hope this review was helpful to anyone considering trying this inexpensive and very helpful and effective supplement. It has really helped me.

I wa diagnosed in October 2016 with a Bipolar 1 Disorder where the mania and depressive stages project at the same time. I moved to Alaska and I was no longer eligible for my Medicare Advantage Plan nor medicaid. I was still very low income but Alaska has its own set of rules. I did have a computer and the Internet. I could not afford a doctor or a psychiatrist to prescribe me Bipolar Medication. I was having a lot of trouble with mood fluctuations and mood problems. I felt sad 100% of the time and irritable, cranky, and all the rest a lovely bipolar disorder gives to anyone. Oh what fun it is to live with moods out of control, no impulse control, risky behavior, talking to much and well you get the idea. I began researching. I found a book written by a very successful woman with the same bipolar disorder as I have. She does not take prescription medication and she controls it with diet and supplements. I found I had to make some important lifestyle changes. One supplement I found that worked in this form is the Lithium Orotate at 15 mg twice a day along with other supplements. I also use DLPA, Ashwagandha, Astragalus, 5-HTP, DHEA, GABA, L-Theanine, L-Tryptophan, L-Tyrosine, Vitamin B Complex especially 3, 5, 6, 9, and 12, DHA, and I cannot remember the others. Anyway, they all help and I did change my diet to accommodate the effectiveness. These also all work to help with muscle tautness, sleep disorders, chronic pain, stress and sadness. The only supplement I do not take as it is a huge detriment to a bipolar disorder of any of the 5 levels, is St. JOhn's Wort becasue it causes the mania of a bioplar disorer to act up more strongly and it causes more problems than it hhelps because the depression from a bipolar disorder is not the same as a normal depression disorder. I had to learn the combination that helped me but without the LIthium Orotate, I cannot take control of my mood fluctionations. It is necessaryu for me.

For the price I was impressed with the product. I felt a lot more baseline and stable mood wise, and generally a little happier. However, I was just exhausted when I was taking these supplements. For a solid week I was completely worn out and even overslept several times. I stopped taking them for a few days and went back to my normal sleep cycle. I'd almost wonder if I was just too relaxed...? Either way, it's a good supplement for the price, but maybe I need a smaller dose or it just wasn't for me.

I read an article about this helping with depression, and maybe able to get off anti depressants. However, I don't know if there's any truth to that or not, but figured I'd try. So far, nothing noticed, but after a couple weeks, I might not be able to tell yet. Going to keep taking, and I'll see where im at when the bottle of gone.

So far so good. It takes the edge off under stressful moments. Helps with clarity and focus. Aids in restful sleeps. I’ll update if anything improves/changes. Affordable and quick shipping.

I've been manic, (not depressed, though, I'm very happy). But I noticed I was too happy. I'm a nurse and a medical coder and I recognize symptoms. For over a year (yeah, a year, and i have a doctor and health insurance), I've noticed I was extremely happy, so happy I'd get irritable. I'd walk into Ikea thinking I could build everything there, then get unreasonably angry when I failed at what I bought.I never over spent, or over anything, I just couldn't stand my mood. I began to look up alternatives to Lithium, cause I was manic and knew the next phase would be depression. I didn't want the full dose of Lithium carbonate. So I ordered Lithium orotate after talking to a Naturalist doctor. I took it, and immediately felt kind of spacey. The lithium orotate had that effect on me for a couple of days, then, suddenly I noticed improved focus while working. Then I noticed a slight appetite loss which is good cause I intend to loose 40 pounds. With lithium orotate,I don't really get hungry but really enjoy the food if I eat. I also noticed that I feel as if I've taken a Prozac. I was on Prozac a couple of years ago for depression. I just didn't want to admit to being manic. A few minutes after taking lithium orotate, I feel a tad spaced, but it immediately leaves, and my mind is fresh, clear, no running thoughts, not thinking I have to do 8 things at once. I can't tell if it's effecting my kidneys, I drink quite a bit of water. I suppose I'll get my labs done in a few weeks. I like to check my blood sugar, and I've not had any problems there, infact, I can just as soon fast instead of eat sweets. I no longer crave food, sweets, tacos, pizza. Cravings gone. This is a win/win for me. I'm about to add magnesium orotate and calcuim orotate with the lithium orotate. I don't know what I'd do if this wasn't on the market. Probably go to my doctors and explain my moods, have my labs drawn and get on lithium carbonate.
