Davis Oatmeal and Aloe Dog and Cat Shampoo, 12-Ounce

I bought this shampoo because at a certain time of the year, my cats gets very dry, itchy skin. She's not crazy about the bath that comes with it, but this shampoo is wonderful for helping to alleviate her skin irritation. I leave it on her for a few minutes to let it soak into her skin and then after her bath, her skin really calms down. This is a great product for her. I would highly recommend.

Every year, there comes a time when the fleas just get out of control, which is a nightmare when you have a long-haired cat. We have to bathe him every week during this period, which neither us or the cat enjoys. This year, though, even weekly baths did not seem to be enough. Mr. Kitty was invaded by super fleas--they could move at the speed of light, they were hearty and could withstand almost anything. They could even unstick themselves when caught on masking tape. We really worried because our cat was starting to pull his hair out. He was allergic to the fleas (talk about an inconvenient allergy), and his tummy would turn bright pink when they were scurrying around. He was miserable. Worse, he wanted to be held--but my mom (who has psoriasis) started having a skin reaction when she held him. Out of desperation, I decided to try this. It is so hard to find something for your cat that isn't deadly. The smell is very nice. It reminds me of the apple potpourri that I love...which is not hard to understand, since it has apple oil in the ingredients. It isn't an overpowering scent, though. It spreads on very easily and washes out easily. Mr. Kitty seemed to like it almost immediately and didn't put up a fuss like he usually does during baths. I had been skeptical that I could leave it on, like the directions recommend, for 5 minutes. I admit I wasn't able to do that, but I was able to leave it on for 3 minutes. He started getting cold, though, and wanted out. This stuff is great! Right away he was more comfortable. His belly turned back to a natural color, and it hasn't gotten pink even a week later. The fleas are still around, though I don't know if they are in as great of number. They don't irritate him, though, like they did. His fur is starting to grow back. My mom can hold him again because it seems the shampoo also makes him less allergic to her. Everybody is happy.

I have a "POOGLE" with straw-like hair and sensitive skin. She was itching constantly no fleas and no redness. I tried this shampoo after 4 others and it was a miracle. After I bathed Gracie may she was full of kisses and hugs. Thanks, Amazon. P.S make sure you get both shampoo and conditioner it helps more and it made her dry hair shiny and soft.

Awesome calm dog shampoo. Smells good. Eliminates seasonal allergies immediately. I also apply the conditioner after shampooing. Great product. I will keep ordering this and the conditioner as needed.

I didn't see any results. I have been using it for a couple of months, but the skin irritation is the same. For regular shampoo, it is ok!Smells good

This was recommended to me by my dog groomer. Smells good and fur is soft.

Love love love!! Worked great for my freak of a dog, hairless boxer. He was a rescue, he had been left in the sun and was badly sunburned and had horrible acne when I got him. I searched high and low for a cleaning solution that wouldn’t irratate his skin any further. I tried several different kinds, they somewhat worked on healing his skin, but he still had an acne problem. This product worked AMAZING for him!!! His acne has been clearing up more and more with each bath and his skin seems to be healing even faster. I bathe him about every 10-12 days, that seems to be working best. If you are using this on a hairless animal, from what I found, every animal acts a little differently. I use organic baby shampoo for my hairless cat and she has never had a problem. My dog was a real challenge, I highly recommend giving this product a try!
