IKEA Billy Bookcase, White

I bought several different pieces of the Billy bookcases for a book "bridge" I want to build for my daughter's bedroom renovation. I ordered two of these tall ones for the sides. They arrived well packaged, very secure, padded and double boxed. I safely stored them while working on having her furniture and bedroom painted and getting new bedding, etc. The book bride being the final step, the grand finale, the main feature! (She is an avid reader). SO, you can understand why I was disappointed today, when I opened the second bookcase and found both boards were completely snapped in half. The first bookcase I opened was great (good condition, easy to assemble. The white color is pretty, almost glitters in the light, very subtly). I have a few of the shorter bookcases to open still, from a different order (hoping they aren't broken). Meanwhile, I reached out to Amazon customer service via chat. They say they are sending me a replacement for the broken bookcase. I'll update my review, when that comes to fruition, they are usually pretty great about it, but I still want to see the new bookcase arrive.

Book shelves made with particle board are what they are. But packaging was terrible. I ordered five. One was broken in two, unusable. Three others have edge damage. Only one arrived in tact. The back piece is way too flimsy (I elected to not install them)
