Bought this for my nan as a gift as she absolutely loves songs for praise so this CD was a winner!

Songs of Praise - Celebrating 50 Years This CD is an excellent choice for all who love the BBC programme. It is a well balanced selection taken from the last 50 years, old favourites, new introductions, worth every penny and more. My wife and I liked it so much that we bought a second one for one of our dear friends. This is a disc for everyone. You don't need to be "Churchy" or even a Christian to enjoy this recording. There are many inspirational Songs of Praise for people of all religions or of no religion. Buy this disc. Listen to it, you will not regret it.

My mother is one of the biggest songs of praise fans out there and asked for this for Christmas, she was delighted to open it as part of her advent calendar of gifts and now our house has an even bigger selection of carols and hymns playing year round...

I bought this CD for use in the care home where I work. However I left it with my elderly mum to listen to first. When I went back a couple of hours later she had lost her voice as she had been singing all that time! I then used it in work and everyone loved it.

I needed a collection of hymns and thought this would be ideal. However, many are "modern" adaptations that I did not like. To check, I watched a recent Songs of Praise on TV and discovered the BBC have utterly ruined it. Surely there is a market for recordings of hymns as my generation remembers them?

I like the hymns but the recording quality is bad. I get that the hymns are sang by different groups under different setting, but it sounds like someone took a iPhone to record the songs. It sounds nothing like the Songs of Praise.

This is great set of "Songs of Praise" CD's - the sound quality is vastly better than what you get on the TV. The full organ sound in particular is quite thrilling at times, which I never hear on the broadcasts.The "introductions" referred to in the advertising are instrument introductions, usually just a bar or two, and few and far between.It is a great shame there is no DVD equivalent which would greatly add to the enjoyment of these two CD's. I had no problem with sound quality at any stage, and there were two CD"s of 21 songs each.These two CD"S will be a permanent fixture in my car player for some time.

I always try to watch this programme, and do so for the lovely music. So I was delighted to get this for my Birthday. So many lovely songs, a joy to listen to :-))). Really very pleased with this CD. L.B.
