Why is this listed as the world's first ray tracing gpu, which it obviously not?

The NVIDIA Quadro RTX line of products (RTX 8000, RTX 6000, RTX 5000, and the RTX 4000) are all Turing architecture-based, which introduced RT Cores for hardware acceleration of ray tracing, resulting in real-time results in application viewports, particularly in conjunction with Tensor Core-based AI denoising. In this sense the RTX 4000 – and its companion products – launched real-time ray tracing into the mainstream of professional computer graphics.

What power connector is needed?

It requires a six pin PCIe power connector.

Will this work with amd ryzen cpus and motherboards?

Mine is working with a Ryzen CPU and Asus X399 mobo. As far as I know it will work with anything 99.9% of all the other popular GPU's work with in the PC/Workstation market.

Will this nvidia quadro rtx 4000 work in a hp z240 workstation?

Hi, thank you for using our NVIDIA professional graphics cards. I don't recommend installing an RTX 4000 into a Z240. But, if you have the Z240 Tower with the 400 Watt power supply, with an available PCIe 6-pin power cable, then our (VCNRTXA4000-PB) NVIDIA RTX A4000 professional graphics card should have a good chance of working very well in it.
