Will 8.5" x 11" fit into the storage slots?

The magazine compartment  is 9 ¾” W x 7 1/2” H. It will hold 8.5" x 11" material.

Question 2

Would this work to say display video games? Mostly Switch games?

This display is not very stable and comes apart easily.  I would not use it in a retail environment where a small child could be injured.  I use mine for organizing literature in my office. I've moved it several times and it comes apart every time. It also spins uneven as the weight shifts. Pockets are large, probably not suited for switch games.

Question 3

Would this work for clipboards?

Not sure -- do you mean putting a clipboard into each pocket? We use it for flyers and brochures, and put 25-30 in each pocket. The only problem we have is the tendendcy of the paper to bend over from the top making it hard for people to see the heading. We fixed using some string tied across each pocket. But I assume they would be able to hold clipboard.

What is the diameter of the base?

off the top of my head I would have to say about 18-20 inches, but I don't have it handy right now. It should be adequate support for an indoor application. Our need was an outdoor one and we have to roll it out through a car park. To do this I bought a wooden furniture Dolly from "Harbor Freight" (costs about $12 depending which offer they have at the time!). I fitted a circular sheet of 3/4" thick plywood between the base and the dolly to hold it firmly, added two more castors to the Dolly (it already has four) and we were in business. I also fitted a long, steel handle to the Dolly (also from harbor freight) The whole base makes it easy to roll and adds weight to stop it tipping if there is a bit of wind. I find it helps to push using the handle to guide & steer with a hand holding the pockets of the stand to steady it.  We have been using the set up now for three years and it works like a charm.
