Review: Finally a device with outstanding performance. - Finally a device with outstanding performance ! I been dealing with irresponsible, selfish neighbors who don't know how to respect and coexist with others, I all ready try some useless anti bark devices besides the also useless animal control. Just to test it, I quickly and temporarily connect this device W/dial at the highest position close to my fence with 2 Kemo L010 Piezo speakers, even so this speakers are not mention in the instruction manual, I order them cause a review the I saw, I was skeptical at the beginning cause on the past I close the gaps between the fences cause the dogs look for someone to bark on through the fences gaps, also any noise the I make in my back yard trigger them to bark and if I'm close to the fence the rottweiler hit them hard. I connect the power supply to one of my backyard lights swith, the first time the rottweiler was barking I turn it on and it make a short whistle then it get quiet, I'm assuming cause the high frequency, but the dog also just stop barking, well I thought it was a coincidence, but few minutes later the same scenario and de dog stop barking, the dog it's been learning realy quickly "bark is not alow" it's been few weeks since I been using this device and with maybe 4 or 5 times of use its been very quiet, I remember the last time I use it, instead of barking at me he just hit the fence. If any anti bark device works for your situation, don't over use it or abuse it on the dogs. Remember dogs are God creatures intended to bark, is up to the ped owners to correct them. But in cases like this with neighbors who wants to push your nice neighborhood in to a ghetto like, is good to have a device like this, it doesn't work that good on their the small barking dog, but my handheld device "Dazer II" shut him up very quickly, NO MORE BARKING! I set the system with a Dewenwils outdoor indoor wireless remote control outlet, to provide power to it I use the InShareplus 12v LED strip wire suplly 2A and 2 Kemo Piezo speakers. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to connect this set up, any average person can successfully connect this device. I'm realy thrill and surpriced on how this device perform realy well even so it doesn't have a clear access to the target. If you are suffering with this type of situation don't give up, if this device doesn't work for you it maybe defective, or the dog(s) are immune to it, like the previuos devices the I use in the past. Good luck.
Review: It Works Very Well! - Using this to discourage a neighbor's dog, that likes to constantly bark, from hanging out along our common fence line. When I run this at 24KHz(*), the dog still barks, but in other parts of their yard, which is good enough for me. When you first power it up, it will (LOUDLY!) start at a low frequency and clime up to the target frequency. BUT, if you turn it on and then connect the speaker it (usually) doesn't do this (hint: 555 timer and a 5vdc relay in a delay-on-make configuration). Doing this doesn't seem to hurt the device a bit. I’m driving 2x L010 piezo speakers in parallel in a little 3D printed housing. Power is a nominal 12VDC. Keep in mind that this device doesn’t put out a lot of power, and ultra sonics are mostly a line-of-sight frequency, so it won’t go through wood, buildings, or bounce around much: so it’s area of effectiveness is limited. Even with these limitations, it’s a helpful device. Note (*) The device doesn't put out a very "steady" 24KHz signal. There is some minor variance in frequency, and more so, in amplitude. I don't think this is a problem. In fact, I bet it make it seem more "alive" to the intended audience.

## Features

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Someone mentioned the frequency fluctuates. Can you lock in a frequency or does it always fluctuate?**
A: My unit does "waver" at about 2 Hz around the set center frequency. When in the audible region it sounds like a sound effect in an old TV show. The "wavering" is definitely an intentional design feature, not a problem with the circuitry. I watched the output on an oscilloscope and the wavering continues even as the frequency moves to the highest end of the frequency range. For any use other than a pure signal generator, like trying to drive away critters, the wavering is probably a good design feature.

**Q: If I use this device + piezo loudspeaker + bullhorn will I be able to get the desired effect on a dog about 150-200 ft away?**
A: It works good on some dogs at that range, but others can be within 50 and ignore it. We had 3 dogs next to us and 2 of them never noticed and the 3rd one would stop barking and run for the house. He would head to the house when he was at least 200 feet away, he soon became a non barking dog.

**Q: Any idea what AC power adapter to power this unit? thanks**
A: i used 12v 1A unit..

**Q: Can this run on batteries? Or only DC power plug?**
A: Batteries such as AA or AAA or similar chemical batteries are DC. The device does not come with a battery compartment. I guess if you attached a battery the device would work.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Built a Stealth Ultrasonic Anti-Barking Dog Cannon
*by C***S on May 11, 2020*

This was the working core of my design to stop two big dogs barking from my idiot back yard neighbors. I already knew from my other neighbors that had been suffering for years that there was no use talking to them and they had no intention of trying to train them or fix the problem. So as a tech I knew this could help. Although I was skeptical because these dogs were big and loud...I wasn't sure if this would have any effect on them. I bought this unit but its actually a little different than what is pictured. Its actually a bit newer looking and smaller in design. The knob is smaller and the back sealed with epoxy. Very solid. In response to other reviews, I want to say this. If you over power your speakers or your amp cannot handle the proper line input or frequency range of the generator then your will more than likely run into problems. Thus blowing out something and causing failure. My design included an amp with a proper resistor network in front of that with 2 high power peizo speakers custom mounted into tubes to make cannons. I also used an RF remote to turn it on. Since this was a stealth design I did notice when you turn the unit on, you actually will hear the generator "ramp up" from the lowest to the higher frequency which takes only about a second but still you can hear it. So to remedy that problem, I simply put a 555 timer relay on the final output line to the speaker. So when you turn the whole thing on, the speakers get connected 2 seconds later after the generator is "booted up" and at the proper frequency that you cannot hear. The final result was pretty good. It takes time though as it wont immediately stop all dogs from barking. You have to train them, every time you hear them dog bark, you turn it on, they stop and you stop. Eventually they will learn and after a couple weeks, its completely different now and Im finally getting peace. No more 6am wake up dog calls and I seem to be the hero of the neighborhood. Fingers crossed it stays like this. I gave it 4/5 stars. It would of been perfect if it had the ability to adjust the power output levels or have a built in amp to save time. Plus the fact it does not turn on at the proper frequency first, instead it has to start at the lowest and go up. Thus needing to add another part to my solution. The frequency dial is not as precise according to the manual and the ranges overlap between numbers so its hard to know exactly where its at. Overall though this is a good unit. It drives the sound well. When you hear it, its like a siren, pulsing in your ears and it is very annoying. The peizos I used also helps as they were pretty good and loud but I think my wife nearly lost her mind on me while I was testing so make sure your alone when you do. That's it for now...good luck out there to anyone dealing with idiots like the ones that live behind me. Hope this helps.
