Q: are the labels self adhesive?

Yes, you have many choices of sizes and some non adhesive stock too. Labels are readily available in non brother brands too. Our printer has run over 15,000 labels and the unit and cutter work like new. I have not had best luck with brother stuff in the past but this printer is 5 star !

Q: I know this is a wireless printer, but does can it also be conected over a USB port to print as a backup?

Yes it can connect with a usb cable to a computer. It also come with a usb cable as well.

Q: did this model replace the QL710w? Is the 810w compatible with systems the 710w used?
