Highly recommended. First of all, this isn't my first time modding controllers. I'd bought the following for PS4 controllers: metallic blue buttons, baby blue front shell, pink front ahell, pink back shell, purple back shell, baby blue buttons, pink buttons and purple buttons. *I have not finished all the projects I have for these. But I've used a couple of them (as pictured; the blue thumbsticks are from another manufacturer.) It was as easy as it could be for fighting with the typical controller bits. I love the way the buttons feel and how everything looks when put together. What's great is how easy it is to COMPLETELY customize. (Only wish there were more color options, but that's just me. There's still plenty enough.) For those who haven't done it before, there are easy to follow along with videos. (I took it upon myself to watch one, just to see how well, or not well, they were made.) I, as a person with ADHD, think that these videos make it easy for newbies to follow along with. Each package comes with the tools that you will need, however I do reccomend that you have some alcohol pads on standby in case you have some mess inside your controller to clean. One of mine, I'd gotten used, and was glad I was prepared. Looks like a previous owner spilt some stuff on it. (Not like that really matters here. Haha.) I used my tools because I like the way they feel better than what this comes with. However, if you don't have the necessary tools, you will after purchasing this. But definitely worth getting if you want to customize your controllers in any way. Review: Great! - I had a lot of problems putting this controller together. The silicone part behind the PS button doesn't look like it will fit. It doesn't look like it does on my original shell. I promise, it fits. I even cut the holes on the silicone, which was unecessary. The screw holes on the hand grip part, don't line up. I don't know whos fault that is though. I did use a bottom shell from a different company, but it could have also been the original innards that loop around that make it not line up. I used a heat gun to help. I also cut the little stems that usually lock the top and bottom together...those little clips that usually break the first time you open the shells to mod? I figured I didn't need them. There are gaps in the seems by the triggers. I don't know if it is because I broke apart the clips? It doesn't bother me, but I see a lot of reviews and most people don't like that. I think it looks great and everything feels solid and works the way it should (I always test all features as soon as I get it together) I also have a clear hard shell skin coming in to protect it. All in all, I know buying Dualshock parts is an adventure because you don't know what you are going to get, especially if you aren't sure what it is that you already have. I’ve used Extremerate before and I was very happy with my Nintendo accessories. I decided to give this shell a try. The controller itself is much easier to take apart than the Nintendo ones - but the shell just DOESNT fit. The buttons get stuck, it doesn’t fully close...just not good at all. I purchased an entire PS4 controller set - buttons, joycons, front shell back shell...ended up paying about $65 expecting the quality to be matching that. Well I was certainly wrong.
