I’ve been using the ARRIS SBG7600AC2 for just over a month now, and I can confidently say—it worked great from the moment I set it up. This all-in-one cable modem and router combo has been a solid upgrade for my home network. Installation was straightforward, and it synced with my Xfinity service without a hitch. Within minutes, I was up and running with fast, stable internet. The DOCSIS 3.0 modem technology combined with AC2350 dual-band WiFi gives me reliable speeds throughout my home. I consistently get speeds near the 800 Mbps max (as advertised), which is impressive for a device in this price range. It’s also great not having to pay monthly rental fees for ISP equipment anymore. I started using this very modem/router in 2019, and loved it. A thunderstorm and power surge wiped it out, so I ordered this as a replacement. I had it up and running in about 10 minutes, and Xfinity logs it in via the phone app. It's super fast, powerful, and has 2.4 and 5 ghz signals. Each of those also has a "guest" signal you can enable, so you actually end up with 4 separate channels. This SURFboard keeps all my smart devices, Rokus, wifi security cameras, computers, and tablets all connected and functioning perfectly. You gotta love the SURFboard modem/router.

Summary: Overall this Surfboard accomplishes the job in its offering as a modem and router combo with 2.4 and 5Ghz transmissions. Pros: * Rather large coverage range, good connectivity in a Ranch/Single story between 1500-2000 square feet. Anymore and you might be stretching its limits. * Easy setup * Compatible with most major American ISPs (definitely with Comcast/Xfinity) * Compact for a powerful modem/router combo, stands vertically fit in many spots Cons: * Not capable with 1GB download speed services (the fastest speed band that most ISPs are now offering) * The App is not very stable; only connects half the time. If it does connect then it’s useful for changing SSID and other configurations. If you’re not going to pay for your ISP’s fasted 1Gbps download speeds then this is a great option/choice. I believe it tops out around 960 Mbps, which is theoretic, it has never hit that for me based on any speed tests with my ISP.

I will say the modem arrived as an open box item (tamper seals or stickers were missing) and it was shipped in original package, not an Amazon or plain box. However the modem looks brand new and works as advertised. We have a small home but the wifi range is adequate for sitting outside and staying connected. (I've been told the 5G setting/network on the modem is for greater distance outside the home, but haven't really tested it). Download speeds are much faster now (like A LOT). We've never had a connection drop yet. It meets all of our gaming and streaming needs. I've owned an Arris modem before and never had any issues. If you're like me, reading reviews and trying to decide, I would recommend this modem. We've had it 3 months and no issues. Time will tell, but my last Arris modem was still working after 5 years.

Great unit, setup was easy I called comcast when I put in my order for internet and gave them the MAC address ahead of time. Because I have no cell service only wifi calling at the location I installed this unit too I wanted to make sure they had all the info setup ahead of time . So I showed up to where I was installing this which was my remote camp. I connected my cable plugged it in all the lights went solid blue! Perfect! Than to verify with comcast like they make you do I took a laptop connected to the default wifi network the unit was broadcasting. It Connected perfectly. Than I Opened a browser the Comcast setup screen was right there. I logged on Comcast it said successful and to wait while modem reboots. It rebooted twice and bam all done. Easiest new setup I have ever done! I subscribed to comcast 400mbps plan and my download on the 5ghz channel is consistently between 460-480mbps. I attached and image of my speedtest results Lightning fast! Wifi range is adequate for me and better than my previous router. The arris setup is easy to get to by going to 196.168.0.1. Log in And its all there. Whatever issues people had provisioning this model on comcast are now a thing of the past. Setup was easy, speed is better than what I bought , wifi range is excellent and the router settings are easily accessible. Overall 5 stars!

Candidly, I'm fresh off an unsatisfying support chat with Arris, and pretty frustrated, so they get 1 star. When the modem/combo router works, it's great. But mine started to fail after 9 months. It would restart or crap out 2-4 times a day. I would have to constantly restart it. The kind of behavior that you might expect from a router that is 5+ years old. It was within their 2 year warranty, so I contacted support. The first time I spent about an hour doing some troubleshooting steps and changing the Wi-Fi channel from Auto to Manual, to try to avoid interference from other devices in the area. I was hopeful this might address the issue. As another step, I also updated my DNS to use Cloudflare's instead of my ISP. Neither of those issues worked, so I went back to Arris. It took me over 2 hours to get a replacement claim going. It would take about 2-10 minutes between each message to receive a response from support. e.g. "Would you like me to start processing a claim for you?" "Yes" 5 min later "Ok, I will start processing the replacement" "Can you confirm your first and last name?" "Can you confirm your email address?" - rinse and repeat. I'm pretty sure the whole process is designed to make people give up out of frustration. Arris provided two options Standard Replacement and "Advanced." You can probably guess what the difference is. Standard requires you to send your defective product back, wait for them to confirm the return, then send you a replacement. i.e. you'd probably be without a router for 2-3 weeks. (A defective router that you have to restart 2-3 times a day is still better than no router). With "Advanced" - they send a replacement product while you get to keep your defective one. Once you receive the replacement product, you send your defective one back. Unsurprisingly, with Advanced, there's a fee. You have to pay shipping (which they charge $20 for ground shipping). They also put a hold on your credit card (MSRP - $255, which is double what I actually paid) while they wait for you to send the defective product back. I tried finding a copy of their warranty statement, but couldn't find it listed anywhere. So none of this is explicitly documented anywhere. When I asked for a copy, the support rep took 20min to discuss with the manager.

The SBG7600AC2 works great with Xfinity, and setting it up was a simple phone call to Xfinity support. They asked for the MAC address from the back of the modem and it started working almost immediately. Logging in and going through the config menus is pretty straightforward. It is pre-configured enough that you don't even have to log in to start using it but when you inevitably want to customize things the menus are well laid out. Well, mostly... One thing I definitely do not like is the "Operation" tab at the top of the menu. Clicking it takes you out of the nice, polished looking interface to a clunky ascii look interface. On top of that you have to log in again because it is a completely separate interface on the modem. On the 6700 the info could all be accessed from the admin page, not sure why they had to break it up here. It's a minor complaint though, in an otherwise solid interface. I got the SBG7600AC2 to replace an SBG6700AC at the same time as I upgraded my Xfinity service from 300Mbps to a 600Mbps package. The 6700 only has 8 bonded download channels which theoretically maxes out at 343Mbps while the 7600 has 32 bonded channels and maxes out at 600Mbps. The old modem pretty consistently got 150Mbps download, the SBG6700AC gets nearly 500Mbps download using the speedtest website, a huge improvement. It's not the 600Mbps my package claims but I attribute that to the fact that I have 6 computers, a couple of tablets, smart TVs, phones, etc. all hogging up bandwidth. With 4 - 1Gb ethernet ports, 2.4ghz and 5ghz wifi and file sharing + media server capabilities from the built in USB, this is a really solid modem.

This is quite simply: LIFE CHANGING. I moved away from the Comcast supplied modem/router about 4 years ago. I purchased the Arris Surfboard SB6121 and the TP-Link AC-1200. I had one Wi-Fi extender. For reasons that I cannot explain, I endured years of terrible and slow connections - regardless if I was using my smartphone, or my Apple TV. My laptop computer rarely worked. My Roku TV always disconnected. The more connections I needed to make, the more I realized it was a disaster and needed replaced. It was time for a change! Then I discovered the Arris Surfboard (32x8) AC2350. My life has changed. I don’t use the 5 GHZ band as the signal is weaker. As an extra step, I hardwired my Apple TV. Every Wi-Fi connection is PERFECT. The aforementioned iPhone, Roku TV and laptop work perfectly. I do need the WIFI extender anymore. Everything is FASTER. I get no connection problems. My wired connections are flawless. This is absolutely worth every penny. Everyone is happy.
