Hermle Kieninger QPA21 / HM354474 Replacement Chiming Quartz Clock Movement by Qwirly - 2114, 2214, 2215 or 2115 and Used for Howard Miller, Sligh, Ridgeway, Seth Thomas Clocks and DYI Clock Kits

This one works and it can actually tell the correct times either on the hour or on the quarter hours! One I bought couldn’t tell the correct times. Since 1999 I’ve rebuilt my grandfather clock 5 different times, don’t try to cheap out on buying the clock movements, I’ve learned my lessons.

It was not an exact replacement. The shaft of the new movement was about 1/8th inch longer than the part that I replaced on my clock. With a little modification to the clock we were able to make it work. I sanded a piece of craft wood to the proper thickness, glued it to the back of the clock face, drilled a hole and installed the shaft through the face to the front. Once installed the clock movement works great. Make sure that you install the part level or the pendulum will not work properly. My clock was almost 20 years old so the fact that the part was different from the original was not too much of a surprise .

I ordered this clock movement and installed my self - it didn't work. So I took it to a clock shop and asked them to look at it - they said the movement I had ordered did not work. So I ordered another, and had the clock shop install it - it doesn't work. When I get the parts back from the clock shop, i will return them. At almost $95 each this is an expensive item that should work. Maybe there is one bad egg in the batch of movements - but two bad eggs in the course of a months time - bad deal.

I liked that it was exactly as I expected & functioned perfectly. I would have liked it better if the chime volume could be increased.

Hand movement did not work or match the chimes. Too much work to risk installing a replacement that had the same or other problems - going to look for another solution. This would have been great if it had worked!

$100 for this $20 clockwork and there are no hands or nut to hold them on. This absolute waste of time and 100 dollar bill.
