Havana Hat - Unisex Fedora

We love these hats. We’ve purchased them in a variety of colors over 1/2 dozen times— the price has been consistent and I think is fair, especially for a hat that is sized. They do fold and pack well in a hard sided suitcase (Do not leave them compressed for long because their brims grow more distort the longer they’re folded, becoming curled up rather than returning to shape. (You can get them mostly back in shape with patience and wear though.). The internal sweat band does discolor over time, but we’ve had some success surface cleaning the inside band, which is soft and comfortable. This is more an issue on lighter shades. We’ve not tried to clean the paper straw itself— when they get too grimy, they segue to yard work, dog-walking hats. They’re a classic style that everyone from my husband to our fashion-aware 20-ish child is willing to wear. They’re well made, the colors are true to what’s on the screen. We are people with larger sized noggins and both I and our child have a lot of hair— they fit, but they are a bit snug and we wish there was one more size larger available. While they SHOULD fit, based upon the size chart and remain the best option we’ve found (hence the repeat purchases), they are snug and they do NOT relax much with wear.

Amazing hat!!!! It is a very great quality- you can tell that the craftsmanship is amazing and well thought of. The material is not heavy but it’s definitely a sturdy hat. Also provides just enough sun coverage of the face and neck without being one of those beach hats. And it’s a great style like you can go out shopping with them or go to brunch in urban areas and keep the sun out of your face and not feel like you’re at the beach either. I ordered a small because I have a 20 inch circumference head- and it fits my face and head perfectly. With no movement but not tight which is great. Highly recommend this hat

This is a well-manufactured hat, but I found it oppressively hot and heavy during a summer trip to Disney World. I say this because I’m comparing it (a $20 hat) to what I usually wear, a $100 tech-straw San Francisco Joe packable fedora. You can buy five of these for the cost of one of those, which I did to save money, and I wished afterwards that I had bought the more expensive hat. Still, in a climate less hot and humid than Florida in the summer, I think this hat would be okay. The hat comes with a detachable chin strap to keep it from blowing off in the wind. The chin strap and hat use clunky metal clasps and an adjustable spring clip, but I cut off the metal clasps and spring adjusted clip, and just sewed the chin strap to the hat itself, eliminating all the clunky metal hardware. The adjuster clip is unnecessary if you’re the only one who wears the hat, since you can achieve the same result with an overhand knot, without the weight of the metal hardware, then it’s easy to just throw the light strap up into the hat so it’s always there. Detachability and adjustability of the chin strap is not an asset if you’re the only wearer. If you don’t want a chin strap, then you just don’t attach it, so there’s no issue. The head size adjuster inside the sweatband of the hat works well. It uses a Velcro adjuster which gives about a 1/2” practical range of adjustment, plenty to get a good fit. I wouldn’t call the hat crush-proof, but mine survived being crushed for eight hours in the overhead compartment of an aircraft, smashed by a piece of luggage. That packability is as much as I wanted. The hat claims to be 90% paper and10% plastic, but it’s comparatively heavy because it’s actually manufactured with a double layer of the material, both in the brim and crown. This may help it retain its shape and give it some additional ruggedness, but that has to be balanced against weight and breathability. I didn’t find this hat particularly breathable, not as compared to an expensive one. Still, you get good value for the money and I recommend it with the limitations described above.

Love this hat! Great for the beach or for sightseeing! Wore it to Italy and Turks last summer, it’s super cute! It will fold up longways and will pack nicely. I misplaced my first and immediately bought another.

Bought this for a late June visit to Las Vegas and it did not disappoint! First, it's stylish. I was definitely dressing like I was on vacation and this went well with all my Hawaiian shirts. Looked great with a pair two tone brown leather Sperry slides! The hat is a bit heavy if you're not used to it, and I definitely sweat under it if there's no breeze, but it absolutely kept the sun off me. I'm fair skinned and fry pretty quickly but several hours in the Vegas sun and this hat protected me every time. I even got it wet in the pool on accident and immediately set it flat to dry and it didn't even leave a mark. The adjustable headband makes for a perfect fit. Great Hat!

Nice hat if your head is the right size. The small was too small and the large too large. I’m aware that there is adjustment under the band however I had to adjust the large size hat to its smallest setting to get a good fit, but then the hat simply looked too big on my head, with too much space on each side of the hat opening. The smaller hat, even when adjusted to the largest size, was too snug. Small medium, and large sizes would be best .

War mir viel zu schwer für einen Sonnenhut. Kann mir vorstellen dass man im Sommer sehr darunter schwitzt.

El material es de muy buena calidad. Me preocupaba que no se viera idéntico a como se ve en las imágenes, pero sí. Está bien hecho, se ve que es duradero y solamente falta probarlo para ver si es suficientemente fresco para un clima cálido. Aunque llega doblado precisamente por venir en un paquete de tamaño reducido, después recupera su forma tal como debe ser. lo voy a poder empacar en la maleta sin que se convierta en un sobrero arrugado. Lo mejor del sombrero es que puede ajustarse al tamaño necesario.

What a delight! I first ordered the cream Havana hat in small but received a crocodile Dundee style hat with beads and whatnot. Amazon was great I sent it right back in the box it came in, and reordered in medium because that was all that was available. What arrived was my new favourite hat!!! Sturdy well built hat with spf 50 and tonnes of style. I wish I could’ve gotten it in small, but since this is adjustable I tightened up the medium and it fits well. If you are searching for a gorgeous, summer hat that looks smart and feels well made this is the hat for you!

Non mi ero accorto che è di produzione cinese: non lo avrei preso, per esperienza i prodotti cinesi sono 4 su 5 pessimi. Non è per niente come nelle foto: la tesa è molle e pandente da tutte le parti; la cupola è dura, e si appoggia alla testa danno fastidio; il tutto è molto pesante: scrivono che è di carta ma sembra di plastica pesante e dura. Pessimo lo ho reso.
