Whether you are dealing with bed bugs or want to make sure you never do, this is essential. I roast luggage every time I return from a trip. It takes about 1 minute to setup and I leave it on for 8 hours to ensure it penetrates deep into the suitcase (be sure to remove meltable toiletries!). Honestly, I love not unpacking immediately anyways. I can hold two carryons tightly, and I put any other luggage in a trash bag and roast it later. It rolls up to be fairly small and fit in the back of a closet. Bites can show up many days later, so it is especially important for short trips where you might not experience the bites until days after you’ve returned and unpacked your luggage. It also helped with clean linens which you don’t want to wash/dry when it isn’t necessary. Most important is the piece of mind. Once you’ve eliminated them, I promise you will want to use this every time you travel. TIPS: Just about anything can go in here except something that would melt (ie cosmetics, art supplies). •Plastic trash bags won’t melt. •Metal will conduct heat and get much hotter than 120-150F. It may melt something at these higher temperatures like nearby plastics, leather, etc. •Most electronics are safe- though it did damage a very old iPad. My laptop and surround sound system survived. •You do not need to leave extra space on the inside, just space around it as the device itself gets hot- but the outside would not hurt anyone. •It causes a slight odor to items, but that generally resolves in a few days. It seems like the odor has gotten a little worse over time, but it’s still very mild. •I accidentally put shoes through once or twice without an issue, but would be hesitant to put nice shoes through •If you’re thinking about it, just buy it!

In our current world of enshittification, where everything is constantly getting worse as companies cut corners to save costs and the quality of everything has decreased dramatically in my lifetime, this product, this thermal strike ranger bedbug heater is the antidote to all the crappy products I’ve recently encountered. This product is so thoughtfully designed that I can’t stop singing its praises to everyone I know. I bought this because I moved into a house in 2021 and within the next year realized it had a major clothes and carpet moth problem. And clothes moths don’t just eat clothes like wool and silk, they will literally live in your walls for years, eating insulation and anything else they can find. I have tried the moth traps which does help to reduce their population, but as a previous avid knitter of beautifully, handcrafted woolen sweaters, I was starting to find moth holes in them. I read about the freezer method, but that only kills the live moth larva and once you take it out of the freezer, any eggs will still hatch. I learned this the hard way. Plus you have to leave it in the freezer for at least a few days to kill the larva. Then take it out, let the eggs hatch, and put it back in for a few more days to kill the newly hatched eggs. Ain’t nobody got time or freezer space for that. Enter the ThermalStrike. This product is advertised mostly for bedbugs but it also works to kill moth larvae. Reader, it works SO well. Kills everything dead dead in a few short hours. Set up was super quick and easy and the instructions are very clear. From top to bottom this thing is just so thoughtfully designed. It comes with a temperature gauge with a probe that reaches into the middle of the bag and there’s a clip on the outside of the bag to clip the temperature display onto. At first I thought, oh this doesn’t help because the probe wire will be trapped by the zipper at the back of the suitcase when it’s zipped shut, but no, there are two zippers which joint in the front and the temperature wire comes out between the two zippers in front and then the display clips into a spot on the front of the thermal strike so that you can monitor the temperature. The capacity is great - it will definitely fit a suitcase if that is your jam but I used it to decontaminate a heck ton of wool sweaters and my entire yarn stash. It’s easy to move around and can be stored away easily when you take out the posts that hold it upright. It feels extremely durable like it could last for millennia. I have used it a few times and it did not set my house on fire. I do not expect it to ever set my house on fire. I trust this thing so much because of how much thought and care was put into the design of this. Who knew?!? A bed bug/moth larva heater killer has restored a tiny bit of my faith in humanity. Dear thermalstrike, thank you for designing such a wonderful product. Please do not sell your company to private equity.

Very easy to assemble, sturdy and is a great size - my large travel bag fits in as is. Heats up relatively quickly and throughout unit but does get very hot so I check on the temp periodically. Mine typically gets to 145/150 - I checked the temp with 2 independent thermometers and it reads pretty true. Photo is when taken out of the bag and gone to room temp - can see the max temp at 151 and when I checked with my 2 thermometers during the heating cycle, they concurred. The temp probe screen goes blank when hot tho in the unit so can only see the max temp reached when out of the bag and cooled so I also include my 2 independent thermometers in the unit when using so I know temp in real time. Great to have this to use when returning from trips. I tried out with handbags, shoes and belts as well as clothes, cushions, bedding etc - all were fine. I accidentally kept my small flashlight in the bag tho and it became misshapen and no longer works. I since bought a second one so we can heat treat travel bags/accessories for 2 people concurrently.

I’m obsessed with this product. This gives me so much peace of mind when traveling. I just come home and pop my suitcase in here for a few hours. I feel at peace knowing I can bring my stuff in without exposing my home to bed bugs. This heat’s just like the label says it will. I have also used this product to remelt the glue on book bindings which I know it’s not intended for but works amazing. I likely will be purchasing more of these in the future!

I must say that I’m guilty of always depending on reviews, but never leaving one. This is my first ever bc it’s well deserved. Having a bed bug infestation in my mom’s entire apartment has been one heck of a journey. Although Ive used all the chemicals and thrown almost everything out. This little magic box has been a lifesaver. Per other reviews, I put my mom’s entire life in large 3mm black trash bags by category and labeled each bag so she knew exactly what’s what. Wrapped them tight and started our journey of heating her entire existence away. It took a few weeks to get through all 42 bags but I wasn’t worried about the critters getting out of the bags since they were tied shut. I’ts time consuming bc it can take around 5-6 hours depending on how full the bag is. And, I don’t live with her so she did some at her own pace. I kept everything in the bags for weeks even after and had the bags separated from clean to still needs to be heated until all bags were complete. She lived like that for a few more weeks after to make sure all the bugs left in the walls had died. The best part of this was that it gave me a peace of mind knowing for sure that high temperatures were met to kill all the bed bugs remaining in each bag. The house on the other hand took a lot more work to get rid of the bed bugs but this magic box helped with everything else. I even put all the couch pillows and coushions in this magic box… well, those that fit anyway, while we waited and vacuumed the couch every day.

This is a nice product in concept, when compared to navy of the other similar options which use fan blowers as part of their solution. When it works as intended, it works great. We've used it as part of my company's pest control remediation efforts. We've reached and tested temperatures exceeding 120 degrees inside for the items within. However, the product has quality control (QC) issues in 2 of the 3 that I've used (stitching failure where the supporting rods fit in, and with another unit the temperature controller unit failed on initial use flashing wildly persistently and the timing function didn't not auto shutoff at the designated # of hours - note that a properly functioning unit the light on the controller does not wildly flash). We returned the last 2 to Amazon. I'm torn in buying a 4th,but we're willing to give it a chance once more. As I prior noted, when the product is fully functioning as intended with no QC related issues, it works great.

If you are considering it, buy it. I wish I had bought this day 1 and or zero. A dirty pirate hooker brought bug herpes into the office and I began to follow BB protocol stripping and putting everything in the dryer before hoping in the shower when i got home. I hated putting my shoes in the dryer. One day the noise of them banging around broke me and i bought this. I tested this in every way possible and it passed everything with flying colors. I checked temp inside and out of everything at various intervals and circumstances. The 360 heat really matters. It heats slow then ramps up. Somehow creates very little heat outside the bag and holds it in well. I got the all clear shortly after buying... so now it sits by the back entrance ready to go if need be. Sidenote, as a gardener i used it to pasteurize my soil(kill bugs, bug eggs and bad stuff.... no fungus gnats). Filled 1 gallon ziplock bags with 6-8 bags per garbage bag... 3 soil filled garbage bags stacked on eachother. I put the temp probe dead center between bag 2 and 3 of the stack. With a decent thickness of soil filled bags... meaning its tough to get the core heated up. It took a few cycles, but the hard to reach center... reached and kept temp... which is an impressive testimate of its heating ability. I I wish I bough this day 1 of dealing with a problem and like knowing its ready to go.

The Thermal Strike Ranger looks and feels like a large soft-sided ice chest, but this baby puts out lethal bedbug heat from all sides! We've used it to '"nuke" anything and everything that won't safely go in the clothes dryer. The Ranger heats up fairly quickly, depending on how packed it is, but the longest anything took to get over 125 degrees was about 2 hours. Speaking of packing, loading up the unit is as easy as putting clothes in a hamper; this is truly a "set it and forget it" device (though we do monitor it). The Thermal Strike Ranger makes no noise, and uses about 350 watts, much less than the space heater style ZappBug. Speaking of the competition, I ordered a larger ZappBug Oven 2 first, but canceled when it didn't arrive after 10 business days. It's hard to deal with "crawling" delivery when blood thirsty insects are crawling on you. On the other hand, my first Thermal Strike (ordered while waiting on the ZappBug) arrived with next day shipping. So, after canceling the ZappBug, I ordered another Thermal Strike Ranger. That's right, I now have two--with enough room to hold a nice bedbug bake every time my wife and I come back from a seemingly nice hotel. BTW, the owner's manual says Mike, the owner and inventor answers customer service inquiries himself. I sent him a text, bragging on the quality of his product and he responded! Folks, I don't write many reviews gushing over the quality of products, but this little invention is top notch. If you're dealing with a bedbug infestation or want to prevent one, buy it!

The seller/company behind this heater are great, honest people. They are very kind and professional, they reduced the CAD price after I purchased it and then refunded me back the difference. The bag gave me a lot of reassurance after a long battle with the tiny things that we shall not name. I used it several days in a row, heat treating all of my belongings in batches. The bag did a stand up job and got everything to the temperature I needed it. It is very simple to use and very simple to pack up after. Nothing was damaged. I recently used it to heat treat a cat scratching post I ordered online as a preventative measure. I just set up the bag and threw the scratching post inside, turned it on for a couple hours and then it was taken care of and my worry was gone. I don't think it should be your front line defence if you're dealing with a problem, but it's a complimentary addition to other treatments and a great preventative measure if you travel a lot or order a lot of stuff online.

Bought after a bed bug scare from a nasty holiday rental. It definitely kills all kinds of creepy crawlies from flies to beetles, the evidence is right there in the tray at the bottom of the bag. Couple of things to note: 1) the black plastic control unit gets VERY hot during operation which may or may not be normal! 2) the poles are difficult to place/remove and at least one does not fully fit, it's at the end of the bag but sticks out the top and no amount of wrangling makes it fit. Am super happy to have purchased this device though. Gives peace of mind and would recommend to anyone who travels or shares accommodation with someone who does. I run it on 8 hour cycles but check it periodically and the temperature consistently reaches or exceeds 145 degrees. If you've been unfortunate enough to bring home bugs and are washing bedding every day to eradicate, this is a possible alternative.
